Super happy to finally check out more of KARD, and I went a bit off in this one, this video got longer than I expected, loved the story of this MV and as always, these are just my thoughts and interpretation of the lyrics/visuals :)
There was a mention that the real meaning is toxicity but not within a relationship, I touched on that very briefly in the video (as far as toxic fans, with the shot of the computer and keyboard and how words are like gunshots in regards to toxic and negative comments), but I decided to go another direction, that's just how I felt :) If the group itself made that message clear (a video was mentioned where they explain the video, so I guess they did) then it's my bad. Though I still like the way the MV made me think, so I don't really have any regrets, but happy to learn the message that they intended to deliver, so thanks for sharing the link :)
I don't think there's anything to apologize for. The song itself to me sounds definitely like a toxic romantic relationship. I could've sworn that each member represented a different toxicity, and after looking it up in response to the person who incorrectly corrected you, I found I remembered right. In the video, they each represent abusive relationships, one (J.seph) is a "keyboard warrior," one (Jiwoo) a stalker/person who harasses, one (Somin) verbally and physically violent, one (BM) like a bully (he says he makes people feel bad and dirty, represented by the ink all over, but he also says a bystander that does nothing). It's about how people can hurt others. They don't say in their explanation video that it's any specific relationship (like fans and industry).
actually you are technically correct... It's just about relationship between them and people online.. some pretending to be their fans, some simply hating on them when all they're trying to do is give it their all. ^^
This is the only KARD song I really listen to. I like everything about it : the music, the rap, the singing, the meaning and double meaning, especially with the last "I bled enough" which makes everything stronger. I also like the fact that, while doing something a little different from what they usually do, they still kept their identity. And I'm saying that when I do not really like their other songs : still I respect their work, they sound very unique. And their voices are nice to my ears. I'm not surprised you took a long time to review this 'cause it tends to make me think a lot, even tho I already know the song. It's about toxic "love" but also toxic "fans" or antifans, or toxic comments in general. I feel it like a critic of all this "commented world" where you have to deal with judgment and remarks from people who hate you but also from people who love you... And you're just riddled with bullets all the time. In the song they say the worst seems to be not to receive comment at all 'cause it'd mean you're alone. But in the end "I bled enough" ... It's stated, now each one of us has to find a solution to stop bleeding from human relationships. Good luck everyone :D
For me, this song has a double meaning. You can read it as you did - a toxic relationship (that was also my interpretation ). You can also relate the song's content to toxic fans. There is no bad or good interpretation. Great analysis as always.
The video is not just about toxic fans. But verbal abuse in general. Relationship, family, fans, etc. Word are like bullets that hurt. Each of them represent some kind of violence/bullying. BM is the bystander, cuz even if they don't do the direct bullying, they know about it and do nothing. Jseph, keyboard warrior, they hide behind a computer to write hurtful things, you can see that, the moment he put the mask, people are behind him, cuz he join the rest of those keyboard haters. Jiwoo with the mic, use her words more publicly with hate, and the speaker are bleeding. Somin with the pencil, that can sent letter of love, but in the end, is not love. The cameras, represent that, people is always watching you, and at the end, is like a catarsis, to break the chains and get out of there. The final shot, Jiwoo shooting herself, is because sometimes, we do this to ourselves, and we are the bad voices in our heads, cuz all the hurtful words, we start to believe it
@@hiddenguard958 ik, I followed all gunshot steps, but they rlly said Abuse. And you said it ys too, how can a bystander verbally abuse someone if he’s just staring. Here’s a definition from google so you get it better: a person who, although present at some event, does not take part in it; an observer or spectator
Thank you for reacting to more KARD! As always love your breakdown/second viewing. You actually bought up a few things I didn't noticed in the MV and are pretty much mostly spot in your interpretation of the lyrics/theme. Hope you react to more of them in the future! They're really underrated/underappreciated and criminally slept on, as folks are more into boy & girl groups. While 3/4 of their material are summer anthems and song that make you wanna dance, their other singles & b-sides, they got super bangers and more darker/"meaningful" songs. Cheers!
Yeah you made some sense, to me at least :) I think at the end Jiwoo took care of her "weak" self. The one who kept on being in the toxic relationship.
One of my favorite Kard songs. One of their absolute best tbh. This song really resonated with everyone that heard it because most people have had their own experiences. Not to mention everything that was going on in the world in Aug 2020 and all the rioting here in the US at the time. Btw are you a world literature or mythology professor? Love your style of reviewing music. 🫰🏼
LOL, I'm just someone who used to be a video editor for a over a decade, so I guess I have a thing for storytelling and that's why I like to talk about it :) Thank you! 🙏
Hey Daniel, loved the reaction Please react to more mamamoo content or the individual memebers. Like Starry night, Wind flower, Twit by Hwa Sa, Dinga. Their mamamoo being drunk vids and funny moments etc PLEASE. They also have their vlogging channels.
I love BM lyrics are so meaningful and motivacional in some way, even when talks about hard things. 🤧💗 He's solo debut is autobiographical, tells how he become a idol and a KARD member, also is a introduction about him. Is called "13IVI" 🔥 totally worth to watch.
Thank you for the reaction Gunshot has been produced by BM (Kim Matthew, the tall blond guy, he also produced some other of their songs) The song has been released and promoted just before J Seph (black hair guy) departure to the army, so it was very meaningful for them I recommend all songs and b-sides Some of my other favourites: - Break down (recent b-sides fully written by them) - Hold on (produced by BM, dedicated to J Seph and to their fans before J Seph departure to the army) - Jinikka (b-side) - You in me - Don't recall (second predebut song, actually the one which made me discover them) Quickly BM (Kim Matthew), the tall blond guy, the "King", (nationality americano-korean), main dancer, lead rapper, sub vocal, producer of some of their songs J Seph (Kim Taehyung) the black hair guy, the "Ace", main rapper, lead dancer (Jeon) Somin, the black hair girl, the "black jokeR", main vocal, visual (Jeon) Jiwoo, the black and white hair girl, the "color jokeR", main dancer, lead vocal, sub rapper, took part to Good Girl show and Double Trouble show, maknae (youngest) Fandom: "hiDDenkard" (or hidden for short) Note1: same surnames but not actual brothers or sisters xD Note2: take the uppercase letter of their "title" and you get the group ;)

I just realized now that J.Seph's shirt has some Japanese or Chinese words, I could only make out the last two ideograms (out of 4) and they mean "one's real character." If anyone can tell what the rest says.... I think it's interesting, definitely has to have something to do with the song/video.

I always saw the ending as representing the cycle of abuse, because if you notice, the body bag opens and closes the video. Unfortunately, abuse can be hard to get out of (especially when love is involved). People will say they're leaving, ending the relationship, etc. and don't, or even do but go back to the abuser. There's many reasons for this. The lyrics really emphasize romantic/domestic abuse, but this can be applied to friendships, and social media as well. Maybe you quit social media because it's so toxic, but you have a new friend you want to connect with, or you have to be on for a job, or you want to keep up with celebrities, influencers, your favorite content creators and don't like to miss out on updates and information, so you get sucked back into social media even though you left because it wasn't good for your mental health. On the other hand (or maybe in addition to), she's killing herself. Maybe she's starting over, free from the toxicity, like killing her previous self. A fun detail is that the gun is paper. It really doesn't look like it!
Yeah about about audience or fans who make their idol suffer ir tocic them eith hate comment if they dont like anthing ( some of idel kill them sellf becouse of that )but as they say in song " its lije you can't cantrol me but without you Im lonely "

The way KARD executes concepts is absolutely amazing. I cant wait for whatever concept they do next
"i only say this cause i love you" this sentence is like a mantra for abusive parents
Aka my mother
Got to see KARD live in Seattle…a couple months ago. You can’t even imagine how loud the crowd was on Gunshot. So good!
me too! i thought the theatre was gonna fall apart during gunshot and dumb litty it was so damn loud. so good.

Gunshot has been produced by BM (Kim Matthew, the tall blond guy, he also produced some other of their songs)
The song has been released and promoted just before J Seph (black hair guy) departure to the army, so it was very meaningful for them
I recommend all songs and b-sides
