    Wrens played a proud part in some of the most important parts in the second world war, at Bletchly Park and in the Western Approachs HQ in Liverpool. Respect!

    Interesting fact which is sad but true is any attractive girls normally became writers and in quick time found themselves working directly for officers, I was told this by a Warrant Offiver wren and I subsequently made a point of checking out all senior officer wren appointees and yes they were all extremely attractive.

    In the Royal Marines in 1964 my drill instructor said to me in front of all these lovely ladies , ' You don't want to get involved with any of these.' What a stupid insult , and what is worse I believed him !

      Don't agree with Wrens on ships. It has caused problems for obvious reasons. One Wren officer on current active Pirates watch, said if she didn't get her expected (to her) promotion she was resigning straight away. She didn't get it & resigned forthwith & left the ship. Of course Ratings can't resign nor leave when on Active Service. I think most male Officers would only resign once back in Port. One male officer was dismissed after affair with a Wren rating.

    • @westers1514
      @westers1514 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@seltaeb9691 And your point is, what exactly? All I can see from your post is a strong woman resigning because she didn't get the job she wanted. I've seen the same thing happen in non military life, except it's men doing the resigning.
      As for Wrens not being allowed on ships, why?
