Thanks for the video. Fixed my same issue on the same brand new post. FYI, I managed to get rid of even that very very slight amount of “play” that’s left over by adding just half a wrap on the bottom of the cartridge, facing forward. So it still slides into the body as it’s not 2 full wraps but just an extra half (either on the front or rear when lined up with the seat orrientation.
I have a cascade post - the company replied quick to have me check some of the bolts and tighten them but i think it is this same issue. Thanks for the video and I agree it seems like the manufacturing tolerances are too loose for such a high quality part and a little more research and testing probably should have been done before flooding the market
I bought a Rainier gen 3 recently (September 2024) issue isn't fixed it was rattling since out of the box, anyways I contacted PNW they said it wasn't this exact issue, I replied with something along the lines of "f*ck that I'll buy another dropper" customer service dude still replied that he would be curious that I open the thing again since he's convinced that issue is not the source of the rattle. He copy pasted a tutorial for the loam (with the air valve). I understand it's similar but yeah... Not impressed with PNW
Spoiler I went out and got another one up, I did not return the Rainier yet I will investigate further and reply eventually to the customer service dude 💀😈

Thx for the vid. Did the same with heatshrink and still works. But yeah, mine was 💩 fresh out the box.
Nice vid mate, my Lome dropper is having the same problem and I don't think it should be like this from factory.
I will give this fix a try.
Cheers
Did it work for you?
Get a One Up V3. It’s much better. I’ve had both.
Agreed, I have both and the OneUp is so much better

Another update, PNW customer service sent me a new one. Hope it won't rattle 🤞😁
