Also use saline solution instead of water. Water can carry bacteria. Saline solution is super cheap and sterile.
Just a tip: DIY mixing medium will only keep for about 2 weeks as it does not have any preservatives in it. It's best if you make it in small batches as needed and be sure to label the date you made it on your bottle/container. :)
@tommygirl20247 I looked up about glycerin containing preservatives and couldn't info on it. Mind sharing where you learned this?

FYI if using this to press pigments/ mineral eyeshadows or other powder products you have to add a preservative or it will spoil your products. Any time you add water you MUST add a preservative. And no, alcohol will not do. And even when just adding glycerin to a powder product it also requires a preservative (because glycerin attracts moisture from the air. Moisture means happy fun time for bacteria). DIY makeup 101. Unfortunately the most effective preservatives contain parabens so if you are against that supposedly an alternative is to use jojoba oil or fractionated coconut oil (don't use regular coconut oil. It hasn't been processed properly to use in cosmetics). Oil based products do not require as much preservation as water based products though they can still spoil after some time. Adding an antioxidant, like grape seed extract, helps prolong their life.
Seriously people, don't give yourself an eye infection.

Can you tell me why you didn't use setting spray, alcohol, or witch hazel?
Those all have the potential to burn the eyes.

hint: this might actually have a chance of drying without the glycerin, if you're resourceful enough to find the rest of the ingredients.
@@oricau436 These media are not that expensive (~$7 - 10 USD), unless you buy Inglot, Mac, Esum Pro, MUFE, Kryolan, Graftobian, or Danessa Myricks, so why risk it? It's not worth a potential eye infection, IMHO. Folks, pls do not use tap water. You can get a huge 4.5 oz bottle of Mehron, fairly waterproof, for ~$10 (at Camera Ready Cosmetics). That bottle will last many, many years, unless you are a professional. Preservatives and sterility are important!

@@clairewilson9124 I actually have a liner brush that looks just like that but I'm not sure where I got it from. I do know it's from before I really got into makeup so I know it had to be cheap (probably somewhere like Walmart or another drugstore). But I've seen them around multiple times so I'd imagine you could find one pretty easily, maybe not a paint brush but an actual eyeliner brush. As for a paint brush, I wonder if you could use a pair of needle nose pliers to bend the metal part on the brush 🤔
