- Dean gets close to Anna this episode and we discover who she truly id. Dean finally reveals what happened to him in Hell. And it isn't pretty. This episode was awesome and I was left feeling so many emotions. Dean broke my heart. Im thankful Supernatural talks about these very real and dark themes such as shame and guilt and doesn't sugar coat it.

Something I do appreciate with the characterization of Dean is how, with all the horrors and trauma that surround his life, is how he finds his joys by embracing his interests. His food, his music, movies, etc. He's passionate about his escapes. Yeah, his life is a nightmare... but if he can drive around in Baby with Sam and blast some Led Zeppelin or eat a bacon cheeseburger and pie while watching a movie he's seen a dozen times he's happy.
That scene specifically solidified Supernatural for me as one of the best TV shows ever made. Jensen Ackles delivery of this scene deserved an award for how deep it felt and how it was presented by him.
I like that you noticed the way they make love is the opposite of their personalities. Not many people notice or comment on it
Another great one from this season. I am still surprised that this show did not earn more awards.
Dean tried to fight it for 30 years. That is how much time he spent on Earth before going there.
Think about how much time John must have spent there resisting the same offer before he was released when the boys opened the hell's gate and I'm almost certain the same level of cruelty and sadism was used against him as well.
Around 100 years, it was mentioned. And the math checks out, if 3-4 months are 30-40 years down there.
@@АлександърЦветков-ж1х Yep! That was my calculation as well. If John was being tortured for that length of time and rejected Alistair's offer, his will power and resilience against pain has to be off the charts.😳
@@victorewah2659 yep! I do love both Sam and Dean, really tough guys, but old papa Winchester is something else :D
Great reaction one of my favorite. Alistair is a formidable foe. This one really showed the start of all the war. Whats at hand. Hell seems crazy as hell lol
Great episode and great reaction…especially during the sex scene Imon seemed very interested in how “gentle” Dean was to the point that she trailed off as she was making a point but just kinda got lost in her mind at what being Anna would be like
Another fantastic reaction and you look so amazing Imon ❤❤🔥🔥.
11:35 first time I watched this on DVD I paused and sketched and drew this scene, 😢😢😢it was heartbreaking as hell..
Nice episode love the video imon Nation stay motivated dream big 1 mill on the way
Man, It feels like yesterday watching this episode airing on The CW not 16 years ago, holy cow. Funny I was thinking if this episode aired around this time and I was right it aired on November 20th 2008.
12:37 I think that’s the point. Punishment.
Heaven is for eternal happiness. And Hell is for suffering.
Evil people can’t pay for their crimes if they just disappear.
If you did horrible things, but you were a child or mentally ill, you don’t go to Hell.
At 22:39 mark,
Imon Snow: How was this taken - because I can only imagine that a lot of critics were just so offended by it ... by this show. I can't see it any other way but I'm so curious about that. So if anyone has any information about it I would love to hear ...
Well, most of the audience took it pretty well, but don't take my word for it. Below are quotes from Jensen from when he and another cast member went to the Vatican (FYI Danneel Ackles made the arrangement via a friend of hers. This was when they and other casts from the show attended a fan convention in Rome way back in the day).
ACKLES: You [to the other cast member] and I went to the Vatican. We went in St. Peter's Basilica, and there was a priest there from South Carolina. He was a fan of the show, and he did a private mass for us in front of the mural of [...].
ACKLES: It was amazing, but my point being that we're in one of the most religious places on earth, and they're catering to people from a show that deals with religiously inspired storylines.

(Quotes taken from an online article celebrating Season [spoilers] of Supernatural from Entertainment Weekly, "The stars of Supernatural break down the moments that changed the show").
So no, especially the religious people, they took the angels and demon storylines very well. It is just a TV show, and most people know to accept it as such.
As another commenter had posted earlier, I also read years ago when the show was still on the air towards the tail end of this story arc, an online opinion piece from a fan with a religious background, that the family story is the main attraction of this show, and they are not bothered by the supernatural elements (in regards to the heaven and hell) in the story.
Great end discussion as always. Very deep. This show is so good. Jensen kills it constantly. Lol you keep swooning lol. The fandam is fun. I grew up Christian. 30 years old now. My parents probably wouldn't like it. I thought it treaded lightly for the most part because you know itsa show. It also felt like prophesying sorta cuz 2012 end of the world annd all the news at the time. Yea it was a doozy. Well wriiten. I could speak for a day on this lol 😊 great reaction.
It's really lucky that the boys have Baby.
Good luck this century finding a car with a big enough back seat for Dean's moments with Anna.
Jensen's over 6'.. only looks shorter because Jared is 6'5" and has really wide shoulders.
It doesn't matter how many times I see that last scene.. wet eyes every time. The first few, I was a blubbering mess.. when Dean Winchester cries, I loose it.
Behind the scenes tidbit: After that last scene.. Jensen was so in it, he had to walk off the tears.
He's talked about it at cons.. that in his mind he knows it's a story but his body just goes there, and like in life, it's hard to stop.
SPN started in 2005. Again.. from conventions...one of the cast members said he's heard from clergymen that they liked it, because of the family bond. I can't say who.. because.. spoilers.
Try to do good as much as possible because if Hell is really like that, it's going to be painful for a lot of people ^^
The thing you have to remember is although Dean was down in hell for 40 years, his father John was down there for far longer; likely even exceeding a full century and had to refuse Alistair's offer until his son's fortunately allowed him to escape after the events of season 2 finale. And we can pretty much confirm that John refused Alistair's offer because an essential seal hadn't been broken during that time, which speaks volumes of the sort of resilience that John Winchester must of had during his time in hell.
Omg ive been off youtube for a while and your video popped up again luckily for me.
You are so freaking cute with short hair!
