Nice video bro and keep making them. I’m new to making videos too. I have a couple I have done on my Crawdad and mine is similar to yours. I like that center storage compartment you made I think I’m going to look into that.
always remember, never drop two anchors on small boat for safety, i tell people that here in Fernandina Fl . I like how you said you'll never buy another boat...i can tell you love the rigging a lot and with your kids, you'll be searching for a family rig within a few years. coleman crawdad guys navigate to vintage boston whalers often...hehe. i liked and subscribed, lol.
Thanks for taking a look! Yeah there aren’t enough “in depth” videos where they take the time to show you the ins and the outs of a personalized crawdad. Thanks for stopping by!
Awesome. I run a 1984 my father in law bought new. Its caught more fish than I ever will since he fished in it about every day for 25 years. I got some stress cracks in the plastic and I need to run the bridge pump for 5 mins every 30-45 mins... but it's ok. I do love the little thing. I actually owned a 'real' bass boat for about a year and a half. It was certainly nice... but I can do most of my fishing from the Crawdad just fine, I dont miss the upkeep and storage issues of the big bass boat. I have a 1994 3hp 2 stroke motor on the back and a 30lb thrust trolling motor on the front. I can cover quite a bit of water...almost too much. Gotta be careful on bigger lakes to get too far away if the wind/waves get too big. Funny...I almost sold the little boat when I first got the bass boat. I am glad I kept it in my shed. Now its back in action and like you...I am getting good use our of it.
Everytime I think about selling my Crawdad, videos like your pop up and I keep her. Your boat is really decked out nicely. good job there, love the Trump sticker, tight lines my friend.
Thanks I appreciate the view and don’t forget to subscribe! I will be uploading some videos this season on how she handles and how the boat works in the water. Tight lines!
So for all the framing I used 1/2” plywood for the base and just cut the plywood in the shape of the back of the boat. There should be a little rail on the back and sides when you take off the green molding over the foam. I put a 2x4 along the middle and zipped it to the plywood. Sorry if that’s kind of confusing but that’s how I did it thanks for watching!
So the storage box is just framed out with 1x3 and 1/2 plywood. Everything that is fixed to the boat is secured to the metal tubing used for the frame.

Great job! I just got mine!
Great ideas! I'm getting one of these today or tomorrow. I was looking for inspiration on what to do to modify it. Thanks for sharing your story!

im trying to make the back deck of my crawdad similar to yours what did you do for framing?

Very nice.
I have a crawdad too. I’ve fixed it up a bit.
Did you add a drain plug?
Where did you mount the sonar for the fish finder?
Where did you get your anchor rope cleat?
Hey how did you frame in the part behind the front seat for storage
