- The Alim Course is a modern name for a syllabus that gives a student the tools and understanding to be able to have a deep understanding of Islam. This clip explains briefly what the Alim Course entails for those who may be considering registering for a course. This clip concentrates on the Arabic aspect of the course.

Assalamu allaikum...I'm sixteen and just about to go into doing my levels in SepteMBer in sha Allah. In regards to this course, I'm really interested in doing it, and it is available in our local area...however I'm worried that I won't be able to balance both a levels AND the aLimah course...what would u say in regards to this matter?

I have started to memorize quran... give me some tips for easy memorization and always stay in my mindd
Repeat a lot
Listening to the Ayahs on repeat would help In Sha Allah. It's better with looking at the mushhaf tho. There are apps on which you can repeat the specific Ayahs on repeat like Islam 360 or Aathan. Hope this helps In Sha Allah.
Stay away from music
Control your sexual desires
Read Quran everyday
Recite durood before learning

so when i join the 5 years alim course will they teach from the beginning?
+Ruba Khan Walaykum assalm It might differ from place to place . Generally the Alim does start from the beginning but you will need to know how to read the Quran at a basic level [without tajweed].

I agree, you should be able to at least read Arabic letters before enrolling on the Alimiyyah course otherwise you will struggle in your Arabic struggles.

sorry this is only an overview of what the alim course is about. Its a running course .
go to any local masjid and ask them if they offer this course. if you wnat you can study in egypt,madinah saudi,india,pakistan,bury england,toronto canada
AssalamualaykumI am curious about something that's on my mind. Down here in England, apparently Urdu is highly sought out for in Alim courses, why is it that Urdu is highly needed?
+SpartanE7 I dont agree that Urdu is necessary to be able to qualify as a scholar/Alim. There are changes that are needed in many Madarasas and one is replacing emphasis on Urdu with Arabic and English skills in UK
Roots OfKnowledge Because I got accepted into Jamiah in Blackburn and they said that Urdu is mandatory even though I am trying to learn the basics (I find it quite hard) so I was wondering what is the value of Urdu within these Alim courses.
SpartanE7 the only benefit I can see in learning urdu is to understand some of the teachers explaining the lesson via urdu medium.
Of course learning urdu will give a person access to urdu commentaries on books but I dont think theres much need for that if you can get access to the arabic classical texts

I am trying to learn my urdu, so I have a bit of a start when I do Alim course and will not have the need to do 2 additional years just to learn urdu as I have heard it's pretty dry. As you have stated with some parts of the Arabic.
+Tron the teacher's there are probably more comfortable speaking urdu that's why they would like you know it otherwise I don't see knoe reason

To qualify from the Alim courses usually can differ from 5 years to 10 years depending on the quality and intensity of the course
I got told it takes around 9 years to become alim after becoming hafiz !?
