    1-3 down in games. Then down 4-8 in the decider against the GOAT. Roar back 7 points in a row to win the championship with the entire crowd rooting against you. What a legendary comeback.

    Congratulations to Lin Shidong and Team China! Ma Long's big smile after the match and that gentle stroke at Shidong made him even more admirable. He must have felt so happy and relieved of the future of the Chinese Table Tennis. The thing made him all time great is his humility. BTW, Adam's commentary adds more pleasure to watch each game. Well done! Thank you to everyone! 2024 China Smash is sure going to be the most unforgettable tournament in Table Tennis history.

    can you respect these two great players and stop finding excuses for shidong's hard earned win and ma long's defeat after playing such a great match and losing it so close. some say its the age , some say he was sick like stop it. dont disrespect how good he performed in china smash despite people thinking he may not be competeting this well because of natural causes. lets just appreciate hsi efforts. being 35 and losing to a super talented and clever , dinamic 19 years old so close wouldnt be any shame , even for the GOAT. he also defeated many legendary players like shidong defeated him on his way to become the the table tennis prodigy he is now. you can see that he felt excited as shidong fought back so well and defeated him. they both just played the one of the most amazing matches i have seen recently , im happy for both of them. lets just respect. you dont have the right to make it seem like shidong was granted this victory when that young boy earned it so hard. it was a 19 years old against the tt prodigy that has 19 years of professional play experience. you be saying ma long in his prime would eat him up but guys , this boy probably also hasnt reached his prime yet. and i can see ma long is so excited for his future. im happy for both of them. i know ma long is gonna teach him more and more in the future and table tennis inheritance of chinese team will be stronger than ever

    An incredible match, better than any silly action movie. It had its own story, so many things happened. It is my subjective opinion, but I think Ma Long got tired by the end. Game 4 was tiring to watch. Ma Long worked so hard in Game 4, then he had 2 games that he suffered through. He really got himself together for Game 7 and started off incredibly well, but age is age and I think he had run out of steam. Of course this is part of the game but I did not see signs of tiredness in Lin Shidong, while Ma Long looked tired. Last few points in Game 7 he looked like he was done, couldn't keep going, nothing left to burn. He never gave up but the body wouldn't execute. They both gave it everything they got. I wish young people watched this kind of stuff and not imbecile online content, the world would be a different place tomorrow. Two fantastic players, one fantastic match, thank you Ma Long and Lin Shidong for this amazing display of superb sportsmanship.

  • @ZoiusGM
    @ZoiusGM 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +22

    I watched it live. He didn't admit it off course but I would suspect Ma Long let himself too 'loose', thinking his victory was bound to happen soon after he was one set away from winning. I am guesing Long lost it mentally, got discouraged and 'afraid' he'd lose the match so he couldn't focus physically and mentally (analytically) into the match. Also, it takes a lot of mental strength for one to come back like Lin Shidong did: he is bonkers lol.
    I feel sadness for two reasons: Ma Long didn't take advantage of his lead; *most importantly* however because he fumbled the point...on the net...while he was attacking Lin who was way behind the table; every player knows that it should be Long's point any day. If he was about to lose I would be fine if he lost in the next point. Satisfaction and impressed because a player made *this* big of a comeback.

    LSD is no joke. It's not that Ma Long isn't in good form here. Look at how Lin decimated other high ranking opponents. Still it was a close game, if this was few years back in Ma's prime, he would win.

      I don't think so. Ma Long may not try his best in every game (his physical strength and energy are limited), but he will never let his opponent win the game.

    Am I the only one suspecting chinese tt governance asked Ma long to let Lin win because the 2 offering on Lin backhand at 8-8 is defintely not Ma Long style. I think he wanted to give a hint that it was outside of his will. It was 8-4 for him, he could have finished this game and won if he wanted.
    it is really very suspicious especially after they force him to withdraw from asian championship, wtt montpellier and wtt frankfurt whereas he had no plan to retire....
    it smells like Ye Zhaoying storyyyy

      8-7 Ma Long does not turn forehand? Fixed match. He was happy cause he won 8-4 and then know he was the true winner.

      @@krakowNico24 I sincerely don't truly believe on that anymore, that was just a moment theory. But I think it's to crazy to think they do this.
      But I think Ma Long was fine with Lin winning, that's what happened.

    Watching games from this angle is much worse than the angle typically used for the Olympics and World Championship Games (with the camera positioned behind one of the players).
