It’s the only downside to us having so many JDM specials in NZ, they ended up in the wrong hands and were abused because they were so cheap. Yeah bro us NZ'ers don't appreciate the amount of awesome imports we are and were blessed with! If the 20v black top 4age ever fucks out in my KE70 may have to search for another beams and huck that in with the 6 speed instead hahaha. where are you in NZ bro?

Nah, itll be weaker with every repair, especially that wrinkle, that means its bad.
Bending the Rear of a old Volvo means it will be to mutch work to fix. So no one is gonna wanna fix that
If he fixes that car it'll go three ways, it has a easy potential to be fixed, the car needs a lot of labor and could take a long time to be repaired, or it's completely gone and would need a lot of money put into it.
Either way it can be done ofcourse, it truly depends on how much the owner cares about it getting back on the road.
It can't get weaker with every repair if the person knows what there doing, It could be cut out, welded, bent back in place and reinforced.

Here in sweden most car guys use 2,7,940 as winter beaters and walltaps snow piles just for fun
I was in a minor accident, exact same car hit at the same spot by another car (not drifting)! Mine got bend too, wanted to keep it, but it was trashed by the Insurance.
Remember that the rear of the car is made as a crumple zone, so it can't take that big of a hit without being bend.

Hey man…. So… do you know of any websites ( other than IPD that sells stuff for 960/740 Volvos to be conveted to straight out rally race cars? I mean.. I know you basically got to rotisserie build it out.. suspension and all. Just wasn’t sure about the motor/trans.. or should I just got LS/T-56 route? And just be easier on the drivetrain. I know that building out the tube frame and all that is at an all time high of price.. DOM tubing is stupid expensive at the moment. But… just trying to read up on what I can that I available
Someone painted you a glamorous picture of the rally Volvo's, they're not what you think, 7/9's weren't entered in Gr.A back in the day either, the AWD's took over just as the 7/9's came into service, so Volvo didn't even bother in any official capacity, I think Hovinga was the only one who ever bothered and that was in SCCA for a few years, not Gr.A.
Another thing with those Volvo 24x rally cars is they mostly just kinda custom built them on an individual basis, no two were exactly the same, other than bucket seats, harness, some shitty dodgy wiring work, Sellholm/Ohlins suspension and maybe some choice catalogue items for shit like fuel tank, fuel surge system and fuel pumps etc, basically ebay, no catalogue items were used contrary to what you'd expect.
And even the custom fabrication work was semi-winged and half-ass in terms of looks because the cars weren't expected to survive more than a season anyway.
On a brief summary is most were just built according to FIA safety spec, boosted up with supporting mods according to power level, cage, Sellholm/Ohlins suspension, quick rack's and dogboxes which is way more than you can afford, and thrown onto the rally course right off the bat, NONE of them were anything special compared to custom builds today.
To add to that, I think rotisserie wasn't even in their vocabulary, I'm half surprised they even used so much as a lift or jackstands building them, I've never seen an original rally specimen built to painstaking detail like you see on car shows today, they're not showroom pieces, they have dents all over under the skin because they were hammered for more clearance (wherever it was required) rather than whole new panels fabricated contrary to what you see on Project Binky and stuff like that.
The welds are shitty looking too, and just over-all, the whole car was kinda hurried, not really optimally built (apart from the suspension and even that kinda sucked a little bit on many of them), and then they were thrown out onto the course.
They literally did the bare minimum required by FIA.
None/few received steering lock (different from quick rack) mods, the more angle a RWD rally car has through a corner the slower it goes through the whole track = Seldom do you find any rally car with lock mods unless it was shit from factory.
And that's why you have to have knuckles shortened rather than buying them as catalogue items.

Can you not swap to to the M-47( the later 5 speed .. not the 4 speed /overdrive ..
Oh.. you know you can take out the “sensor” that locks out the overdrive for just 4th gear.. so you can put an “overdrive “ for ever gear.. keeping the turbo spun up the whole time..
