That's the year I graduate high school. I'm really hoping people will still feel the need to join the military whenever I either go to bootcamp or end up getting accepted into the academy. I'm really excited to have the opportunity to serve in the Navy, and I'm really looking forward to applying
Thanks for this…I thought they had softened up the plebe summer but…the plebes really have it, almost as, rough as we did. While we had to chop in the Bancroft hallways, brace up when told to, in the winter, in the middle of the night, close the upper classman’s windows, memorize many things, go to the end of the hallways and shout “you’ve got ten minutes until noon meal formation sir, formation is outside, the uniform is service dress blue; the meal is roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, and Lima beans; the officers of the day are Lt Morton and the midshipmen officer is Lt Cdr Noonan; the movies out in town are (then shout the four movies); ten minutes sir.” Then at 5, 4, 3, 2 minutes shout one of the categories. At the 1 minute shout “you now have 1 minute until noon meal formation, I am now shoving off…time, tide and formation wait for no man, 1 minute sir.” I’m a class of 1974 graduate…when we only had men as midshipmen.
A bit what I was going through in the Swiss Army back in the 90s… what’s really different: We were allowed to eat like civilians, isn‘t it a bit weird the funny way they have to eat and drink?! 🤭
I was waiting for this 2028 PS recap. Thank you. Loved watching parts of what our plebes went through. So proud 🎉🎉
Class of 29, can't wait for I-Day!
