i have about $100k in my 44'x36'x12" shop...built 4-5yrs ago.mine was "stick" built just like a house.it cost us $70k for what you have there.windows all around,100amp panel, plumbed for water and bathroom, trench drain, tubes and insulation in floor for heated floor,4" concrete (which is all you need for a hoist,guaranteed),1- 18x10 door and 1-10x10 door, soffit lights all the way around building also.
i then spent another $30k for the boiler, insulation,(blown in cellulose in ceiling)electrical, and steel on everything all done by me.i then built a mechanical room for boiler/compressor,etc and a bathroom.there were no shortcuts done on mine.i can power anything in it and work on anything with my hoist.when -20 outside in WI its 65 in every corner of the shop and will go a day without running easily.looking good, just remember...good stuff aint cheap and cheap stuff aint good!

I was just wondering if this building can be used as a home. Large kitchen, one bathroom, laundry room, 2 bedrooms, Living room with extension for dining room? An office would be nice as well. With insulation, sheet rock, electrical, water and lumber for walls. With the economy the way it is, this would be wonderful if this could be used for living if under $250, 000.

People live in barndominiums so in theory you could, this would be much smaller but could be done. Good idea

i was quoted $95k for a 30x40x16 with a 10 foot lean on one side with concrete. i got another quote for $65k and another for about the same. i decided to go with a metal building that is 30x40x11 insulated for $26k, but when i quoted concrete i got $20k and $17k for a 31x41 with 36 inch footers.. its all ridicules.

You will regret doing mini splits, after two years they are nothing but trouble.go with a conventional A/C system
