  • Alright, so we are installing two snorkels and two snorkels with dryers on both my drills. Russ with Airgaurd is down helping us with the installation.

    Ran airguard system in the past. It helped a bunch with moisture causing fert to build up and causing problems. My hyd oil has never ran hot all. Amazing how little it takes to help a bunch.

    Mike where you all have so much equipment when you have a battery with low voltage you can look inside and if the acid/water level is low you can add distilled water to it. Over time the water evaporates off and you end up with low voltage. As long as the voltage is above 10.5 then it's more than likely low on distilled water. When its under 10.5 you have a dead cell, make sure to only add distilled water.

    Say Hi to Russ. Once u use your airguard for a while blow it out. No different than regular rad. It can plug with dust. Especially if you’re running in high high humidity.

  • @CraigSollosy
    @CraigSollosy หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Raising the air temp doesnt get rid of any humidity or moisture thats in the air. You will lower the relative humidty % since warmer air can hold moire moisture in it.......but the same amount of grains of moisture are in the air

    We had similar battery issues in our Puma - we traced the leak to the handbrake. It seems like if the handbrake was not on when the tractor was turned off, the tractor was trying to energise the trailer brakes even though there was no trailer hooked up.

  • @tobimai4843
    @tobimai4843 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Using the hydraulic oil heat is smart, then you also have less heat that has to be cooled by the tractor itself. Also, whats the red hose on the fans?

    • @ke6gwf
      @ke6gwf หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think the red hose is the Case Drain. It's basically a no pressure free return to the tank to drain the cases on hydraulic motors etc, because they are always bleeding some oil out past the vanes and gears and seals.
      It basically allows you to have a low pressure space in the motor case, which makes it more efficient, reduces friction, etc.
      You can plug the case drain port and it just drains to the Return line, but return lines have some pressure as well.
      The case drain line is also useful for taking the output of pressure bypass valves etc.

    Tough year for batteries here so far as well. Worst is on DEF equipped case tractors they will throw an SCR fault which limits you to no power and idle only after 10 or so low voltage events then you need to call the dealer out to get it cleared.

    The air dryer valve should have auto shut-off / open depending on the humidity.

  • @angryscottishmechanic848
    @angryscottishmechanic848 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Man, I don't know about that "air dryer". Heating air does not remove moisture, it increases the air's ability to hold moisture. Once that air cools down you’re still going to have the same moisture content (grains per cubic foot). Only if that rad can heat all the product and steel of the tanks to avoid the air cooling back off could the moisture move thru the system without effecting the product and I highly doubt that oil cooler can come close to the Btu's that would require. Now a desiccant dryer with the oil rad being used to regen the desiccant cell I could see that doing something but a oil cooler strapped to the inlet of the fans, I just don't see how the math's math on that one. If you really want to get carried away, you could strap a couple liquid nitrogen tanks to that rig and inject it into the fans so they move half outside air half nitrogen which is hydrophobic (won’t bind with water) and that would work pretty snazzy. Co2 might be easier to get as most fast-food places have moved to liquid Co2.
