Birds _do_ smell wonderful! My (now former) husband and I used to joke about our flock of 5 Budgies and their "bird perfume." To me, they had the aroma of freshly mixed cake batter. Never did figure out how or why that was the case. I swear, it was so cool to have them land on us, wafting their aromatic goodness everywhere! ❤ 🦜
Ugh.... I know hey? They had such a special bond... but it's just part of the Canadian crow existence.... it is really special that the masses accepted Frankie for their migration. He will be back in March 😀 hopefully with my crow friends too 😀

Crows remember. … i am wondering if … i read some bird people mention they avoid stroking the back of their birds, because somehow it can trigger in the bird some kind of chemistry or interest in partnering? I totally butchered that and don’t know much. But what if Frankie loved his bond with you more than anything, but his bird sensibilities told him he cannot build a nest with you or sit on eggs with you… so he must sadly part and make his future with another crow. I bet he names one of his beebees Romina. You are the best, kindest hooman. I have you in my prayers for the most beautiful future. And I hope Frankie returns with a family to share.

Aw, i do hope he comes back when it gets warmer again! It's hard to imagine him not missing getting his hugs and cuddles. Around where i am in Sweden the crows (we have hooded crows here by the way, they all look like dapper old men in suits due to their colouration and stance!) usually get a bit more common during the colder half of the year. Just recently I've started to see my one-footed crow friend, Captain, named after captain hook, much more often. I missed her when she wasn't around much during the summer, it's nice to know she's okay. I wish Frankie all the best during his "winter vacation" as well!
