Brett Schoppert for Donovan 2023

The University of Richmond Spidermonkeys are proud to present Brett Schoppert for the 2023 Donovan award.
Brett is an incredible leader for our team and the entire Richmond Spidermonkey program. He has been a critical part of the team’s success over his career, leading the team as captain to a Regional championship and 3rd place finish at Nationals in 2021, and a Regional championship this year as the team heads to Nationals. He spent his last summer playing club with Blueprint in New York, and uses his elite athleticism, throwing, and defensive skills to dominate opponents around the division. The amount of leadership he brings has an incalculable value, leading the way with his passion for the sport, hard-working attitude, and intensity. He leads by example, with an innate ability to inspire his teammates no matter the circumstances on the field. Off the field, he is simply a great guy to be friends with. He cares deeply about this team, and we care deeply about him. Brett is an exemplary player and person and has made a lasting impact on the Richmond Spidermonkeys.
