  • Guess where the only 100% Jewish town in the world, outside the U.S. and Israel, is located? I explored an unusual Jewish community in an unlikely location, and this is what I found...

    Azerbaijan is a wonderful country that you really should visit! Also, disclaimer, when I say "Muslim country" I mean that it is the main religion, not that Azeris are necessarily defined by their religion. Just saying. If you have any questions, ask away!

      There’s nothing good about secularism! The Donmeh ruined the Caliphate and they continue to plot and plan and scheme in Turkey! The Donmeh make up nearly half of Turkey. They pretended to be Muslim to subvert the Caliphate and establish the state of Israel. The Donmeh are apostates and they represent the opposition in Türkiye! They beat up any Muslim who expresses his Islam by wearing a Topi and or an Islamic garment and numerous cases have been highlighted in the past year! This is your secularism! Disbelief! Racism against Arabs! Hatred for Arabic and Islam! Thankfully the Muslims who love and defend Islam in Turkiye are in power and are growing in number and force! Publishing houses are churning out Arabic books regarding all the Sharia subjects including some books written by Ottoman Scholars of the past that are being printed on a large scale for the first time! Islamic universities in Türkiye are booming and
      The 100 year agreement not to reinstate the Caliphate IS OVER!

Hebrew most of us speak Yiddish German Yiddish not Eastern Yiddish, which has all the Slavic stuff there I barely can understand that, and then our dialect of German, so nice to see other Jewish people that for obvious reasons don’t speak very much Hebrew except for what they probably learn in synagogue services Shabbat services, now I don’t feel so stupid

The track is A Tribute To The Israeli Defence Force and it is excellent - tuneful and forceful without being bombastic combined with a lovely lyric. I know next to nothing about the group but on investigation I see they've recorded a whole batch of Jewish related tracks such as Pesach, Yom Kippur, Bar Mitzvah, Israel Is Real, The 613 Mitzvot and probably others I don’t know about yet. Some of them feature Rabbi Moshe Bryski which is definitely a recommendation in itself.

    Syukur alhamdulillah. Salam from Malaysia. We are all brothers and sisters, of different parents but we are all connected through the umbilical cord to the womb of our first mother, mother hawa.
    From her womb, our lineage came.
    I always recite alfatihah to her for paradise lies under her feet.

    If was sunni it would be perfect because all these connections between judaism and azeri culture are very very positiv. Azerbaidjan has preserv beautiful assimilation.
    The sunni version of that society is Turkey. Very nice contries. 🧠🇮🇱🇦🇿

    I like these tours but the communication cannot be like this. There was no real informative conversation in any language. Just broken words in all languages. Either get a translator or use google translator or something. A real conversation is needed.

    The information is partial.
    For example, they are decent of Benyamin tribe, as the Ester (Hadas) Hamakqa (queen of Pharas and daughter of Binyamin tribe)
    Other associated languages with Juhuri are Arabic and Turkish

    • @arimoff
      @arimoff หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Us Juhuri speak farsi mixed with Hebrew.
      Some do say we are from the tribe of Benjamin. Others say we are descendants from the 10 lost tribes and their proof is we have a name for every jewish holiday accept hanukkah, which happened way after

    Alec, thank you for providing such an insightful video on the Jewish coomunity in Azerbaijan. Hopefully this video will bring us one step closer to peace in the Middle East as we learn from the example of co-existence in the Caucusus. Just sad to see the amount of hate speech you get from both sides.
