Preying on desperate people trying to hold on to their essence as a person and the people who cherish them. There aren't words for how despicable this is.
Sad; so many agencies originally started with the goal of helping the 'common' citizen from being abused by the unethical powerful. So the unethical powerful immediately start undermining the agencies.
Dean Ornish's clinical trial on lifestyle intervention and Alzheimer's was expected to conclude last month. I hope you cover the results soon, Dr. Greger!
American FDA Bought and sold by money. Their dietary guidelines aren't trustworthy either. Thank goodness for people like Ornish, Greger, Colin T Campbell, Esseltyns, etc.
The amyloid plaque seems to just be a waste product of the disease. It's like targeting smoke to kill a fire. These drugs are treating a clinical finding to treat the disease which is why it doesn't work. Dr Neal Barnard has a great talk about alzheimers.
Yes, brain specialists Dr's Dean and Ayesha Sherzai (the brain docs) are the folks to follow for all detailed info on cognitive issues. They specialise in dementia and alzheimer.
If you could cover the change in FDA's standards and practices since the User Fee legislation was first enacted in 1992, you would be doing a tremendous public service. What User Fees basically did was put a price tag on Agency approval. There should be no price tag. Federal regulatory agencies should be adequately funded, by Federal appropriations, to attract and keep highly competent, qualified professionals in all relevant disciplines for each affected Agency. The regulated should not "own" the regulators. And if you look at how the European regulatory body manages its User Fees [they charge for meetings, which FDA does not, among other things] - AND at the fact that most other countries do not merely regulate drug study and approval, but also regulate drug PRICES, while the FDA does not? Much may become clear that was previously obscure.
I've already seen two movies about curing Alzheimer's: 1. Deep Blue Sea which resulted in sharks getting smart and killing people in an underwater lab 2. Rise of the Planet of the Apes which resulted in apes getting smart and a virus that nearly exterminated humanity and turned what was left of humanity into cavemen.
My brother was started on Inflliximab for Crohn’s disease. It worked for the first two infusions. Then he was thrown into acute congestive heart failure and had to be hospitalized. Fortunately he recovered but it took several months.
Any drug ending in ‘mab’ is a monoclonal antibody. Like natural antibodies they target specific biochemicals for the immune system to remove. But triggering the immune system this way can lead to dangerous side effects, such as the brain inflammation with this drug.
Plaque isn't the cause, it's tbe body trying to protect itself against elevated insulin levels over time and that's the cause of Alzheimer's, not amyloid plaque.

You’re mixing statistics with different basis. *The US average age of death for a 65 man is 83, for a woman 86.* That’s post-Covid, which is still reducing life US expectancy. Highest fatalities right now for Covid is in the over 65 age group. The total average age statistic includes infant mortality (shockingly high in the US compared to other industrialized nations). Averaging in a lot of zeros brings down the total. The total average also includes suicides and accidental deaths.

A mountain of respect to those willing to expose the corruption of the FDA.
The FDA has long since lost all credibility.
Does the FDA actually still exist? Or is it just a front for big pharma?
@@Joseph1NJ Both.
I would add the CDC to that.
Look into how they got police powers.

Following ...
There was also an intervention on advanced breast cancer by Dr. T. Colin Campbell's son. I can find it on
ClinicalTrials. It says completed over a year ago, but results are not published yet.
why do they expect us to trust them anymore?
They don't, they just know they can make money off some suckers
Biogen's European approval application was denied; Biogen withdrew its Canadian application when regulators foreshadowed a negative decision.
Also: "The Alzheimer Society of Canada trusts and supports Health Canada’s regulatory expertise and decision-making in this matter."
Who cares about effective? Is it profitable is the important question.
The FDA also approved widespread use of DDT. That should tell you all you need to know about them.

Accelerated riddance of insurance burden. Tragic.
Thank you for pointing this out! And thanks to the EMA!
I would love to hear more about the relationship (or non-relationship) between amyloid plaques and Alzheimers.

I think the original study was proven fraudulent. Edit: link to the article was deleted

So depressing this corruption everywhere.
Yikes. That's so disturbing. Thank you for sharing
All but 1 said no, but the FDA approved it anyway. Remember the name of that drug.
How can this happen? I mean, should these people be jailed and accountable for all damages?

Yeah, but how does that profit anyone? This is why I love capitalism.
I love this channel!
After "OxyCofin" got approved, you can't expect much from the FDA
During covid I often wondered about the fda
I did contract work for Biogen once. They had a nice building. A VERY nice building.
😡 dirty organization
Hooray for the most expensive health care in the world. We don't get what we pay for.

The mab drugs seem to be really dangerous. Can you please make a video explaining why this is? I had heard it somewhere before but forget why.

Many other side effects as well, such as with Ocrelizumab for multiple sclerosis. There's a whole group dedicated to how it did people wrong.@@broddr
The fda forgot about the f. Follow the money!

Didn't MEdicare rates increase because this drug was added to the approved list?
Why do I think of Comirnaty now?
I am waiting for Dr. Avi's response to this video. 😁
Great Video!!
Great video, Dr Greger!
It is amazing what money can do these days... and the people's search for the magic pill too. :(
John Oliver just did a show about the FDA and USDA.
This is why the FDA can't be trusted smh.
I always say this Dr G for president
This is why I have sympathy for anti-vaxxers, even though I'm not one myself.
Almost as bad as the CDC recommending circumcision
FDA stands for, For Fiddling All.
yikes!
Just wtf! Like what the actual f**k
Obviously somebody owns this company's stock.............
The FDA needs to be split into two groups.
do not do drugs, it that that was everyone was clear on.
Do drugs that are safe and effective.
