    Starbucks is a recession indicator, the lower their same store sales the worse the economy. Lower standard of living isn’t bullish. I would assign a single digit multiple on Starbucks.

    Recently bought some recommended stocks and now they are just penny stocks. There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. My concern is how can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor, or is it better avoiding stocks for a while?

    • @Kaustavpatell
      @Kaustavpatell หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Just ''buy the dip'' man. In the long term it will payoff. High interest rates usually mean lower stock prices, however investors should be cautious of the bull run, its best you connect with a well-qualified adviser to meet your growth goals and avoid blunder.

      The truth is that this is really not as difficult as many people presume it to be. It requires a certain level of diligence, no doubt, which is something ordinary investors lack, and so a financial advisor often comes in very handy. My friend just pulled in more than $84k last month alone from his investment with his advisor. That is how people are able to make such huge profits in the market

    BTC can disregard techincals when in a bull, did that in 2020 when it crossed previous ATH... stayed there a few weeks and continued pumping like crazy to 60k. Also, there is one constant... when around 90 on monthly RSI, the end is near. And don't expect crazy price targets of 500k... expect around 100k at most and be happy if there's more after that. If you believe big boys and CEO's of big invesment firms saying targets like 1M this cycle.. you deserve to be their exit liquidity..It's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady during trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3B'tc to a decent 21B'tc in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Francine Duguay, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

    What i see with a lot of beaten down stocks is that they were rated years ago as a growth stock and so their multiple was high. Then their growth slows right down due often to running out of runway and having to open more and more marginal shops/sites etc. Therefore they may be growing earnings but not at the same rate as they used to, and so the multiple gets reduced. In a sense CVS is pulling back in time to reflect their new growth multiple

Then CVS will be rewarded with higher share price over time . I think next decade CVS has a long runway of growth and this is going to cement there place in the healthcare space . LONG CVS and UNH I think CVS is very undervalued . I also own some SBUX and CSCO long those as well.

    Problem with Sbux is that even though it's a world wide brand and everyone knows or heard of Sbux. Sbux was never known for offering value items. With inflation and other issues, it's just getting too pricey. I know a ton of people who gave up on Starbucks because it's now just too expensive. Also it's not healthy. In Cali, companies like Tierria Mia Coffee has been popping up and having just as much, if not more, customers as Starbucks. It's also why I agree to a degree with the other commenter that said Starbucks is a recession indicator

    I've owned CVS for 5 years and sold all of it @$78 last year, after 45% of gain in 5 years. CVS has become a value trap stock since the new CEO took over in 2021/2022 which is my very reason to dump it. "Near 52-week low" is by no meanings a "valid metric" in evaluating a business's intrinsic value... Paul needs to know better than that.

I’m sure in 10 years it’ll work itself out. Not sure what I think over next year or two. I own it, and am not selling, but still rather annoyed

    I understand your argument that it is better for the company to re-invest profit rather than pay dividends. However, sooner or later, greedy and incompetent scoundrels will end up running the company. So I prefer to get cash in dividends so that I can re-invest with my own diligence before a board robs me. I am happy that Berkshire Hathaway does not pay me a dividend but I want a dividend from every other investment.

    COVID created a lot of work from home amateur coffee baristas who can make better coffee at home than Starbucks can thanks to better machines. Starbucks prices make it a luxury that can be cut out when people need to cut spending. I wouldn't be jumping into Starbucks at this time.

    Your Starbucks analysis is a bit poor. Coffee can be resilient and even surging, but other companies are taking their market share, which is reflected in their financials. Their sales are down, while other companies like Tim Hortons are up. Plus, your "friends" metric who goes to Starbucks and who has membership is completely anecdotal, therefore useless.
    You keep going back to anecdotal evidence for Starbucks when you should be looking at their sales and the sales of their competitors. "it means something to me" is purely emotional.

    Am sick of hearing you saying "buy back shares" 5 million times one video. It might be one way to inflate share prices, but if the fundamentals don't match the price, the stock will still come tumbling down. Have you ever thought about that? I get it you don't like dividends because you don't wanna pay taxes on it, but had it occurred to you that the compounding effects of reinvesting dividends beats stock buy back over time?
