The problem with this show is not that the formalin couple doesn't get a good ending. The explanation why Sabin did not really love Soo Hyuk makes sense at first: she is a person in her own right, not just the reincarnation of Ha Eun. So her love for Soo Hyuk was just a projection of Ha Eun's love for Hyung Bin. However, what makes no sense is that she now loves Jong Bum. There was no chemistry between them, no love, just pity, and they never shared a kiss in the drama. Yes, Sa Bin's uncle said when she was drunk that pity is a good foundation for a relationship, but that's nonsense, it's a sign of immaturity if you really believe it. Immature, Sa Bin may be though, but it is still not possible. If Ha Eun's influence on Sa Bin had been as strong as she said, Sa Bin could never have spent a second near Jong Bun. She would have been afraid of this sociopath, so she wouldn't even get a chance to feel sorry for him. But since she wasn't afraid of him, the consequence of that is, that there was true love between her and Soo Hyuk. So you can't have one without the other. The authors didn't understand their own story. And this is the problem.
i think they had one of the writers fired or changed so they rewrote it. i really do think they would've gotten their ending and at the end it doesn't make much sense. because she's crying for jong beom and it cuts away. i at least think there should've been a second season or at least a movie. but the pros and cons of that come at many. i just hope if there is another show made like that they don't make the lead woman biased towards the two male leads. it tends to make things confusing.
