It’s very easy to get electric going in caves. Build a small base with a double layer compound above your cave. Set up wind turbines as normal. Use only one side of a root combiner, and place it on the floor of that base, which should be as low to the ground as you can possibly get it. Now go in your cave, and build a double doorframe stack as high as you can possibly get it into the cave ceiling. Stick another root combiner up there. Connect the two, and enjoy your power. Use as normal. Every cave, every difficulty, every location except for one on the entire map, you can get electric and water.

Just wanted to let you know that there is more than one cave you can reach electrics and water into: both the small hard cave and large sewers cave work.
Large sewers is the best for electric/water, Small Hard can get blocked by the terrain outside, if it's too high. Getting industrial pipes down is also still possible, though not guaranteed.
The friendship with the neighbours is why I play this game. This is how I met some of my best gamer friends who I've played with for years. All because we built next to each other. Had a fight at some stage but then teamed up to kill a greater threat. It's rare but it's the best

Romans would routinely besiege cities and villages by building walls around them. On one such occasion, they were attacked from the outside, and built a wall around themselves. Thus, they were both walling in the city, then walling in themselves. What if you did that to someone's base? Just wall it in, build a base, then wall in your base so they can't get through from either side.
