How To Jailbreak Your TI-nspire CX II/CX II CAS/-t Using Ndless

- Hello! Today I'm going to be showing you how to install a jailbreak called Ndless on your TI-nspire CX II/CX II CAS Graphing Calculator. Once you've installed Ndless, you can do a lot more things with your Calculator such as play Pokemon or Super Mario Bros!
This also works on CX II-T/CX II-T CAS calculators! It will not work on any OS version after 5.3.0, as it has not been updated yet for newer versions. Don't worry though, 5.3.1+ support is planned in a future update.

Finally they actually got it working, I used to have this calculator a year ago, returned it ages ago because it stopped working, but I remember myself always checking a github thread from the ndless developer for the cx ii, thought It'd never happen XD

I'm disappointed my new CX II came pre-installed with 5.4 :(
i am on 5.4.0.259 is there way way to downgrade versions?
Sadly, there's no way currently. It's possible with ndless, but ndless doesn't work on 5.4, so nothing can really be done.
How do I get the file onto my calcultor? The most recent version is 5.4 and I want to use my 5.2 .tco2 file I downloaded but the software wont open it.
What OS is your calculator? If it's above 5.3.0, you can't downgrade, so you have to wait for a new version of ndless. That's probably why the software isn't accepting the file.

How can I fix this?
I'd try resetting the calculator and/or sending the ndless files again. I've gotten this error before, I don't know exactly what causes it though.

What OS version are you on? Ndless doesn't work yet on versions 5.3.2+, so if you're on 5.3.2 that could be why you're getting the error.
That could probably be why, but I don't know how to get a past version. Any idea where I could find that?
@@cristianjensen33 Sadly, TI doesn't want us to do things like this and they make it impossible to downgrade. Don't worry though, the last time I heard vogtinator is working on a version of Ndless for 5.3.2 and hopefully it will be released soon! As for that, just be careful not to upgrade in the future if you can avoid it, because it will probably break Ndless again. :P

do you guys know if I will get an jailbreakable OS, when I buy a "new" labled "TI Nspire CX CAS" ? Or will I get a refurbished with a new OS? How to see this?
For a CX CAS, probably so. For a CX II CAS, probably not.

Will it break something in my calculator ? like the system or something because its not sheap and i use it in my school!

Are you making sure your installer and files are the ones for that OS version?

it seems like you have an incompatible OS.
NDless has a lot of factors you need to check for:
1. what version of NDless did you send to your calculator?
2. what model of calculator do you have?
3. what OS version is your calculator running?

I downloaded the version you were using and it does not do this anymore but instead loud nothing, I also noticed that I have the same status update as you

For the cx II can it run all the programs that the cx can, like emulators?
Most things for the CX will work on the CX II. I can confirm that the GBA emulator works well.
When I'm launching the installer, its just a blank screen that appear on my calculator, can you help me ?
What OS version are you on? It will not work on versions above 5.3.0. You can check by going into Settings -> Status.

i currently have 5.3.2 i tried to install neddle 5.3.0 but it gives me this error message: "line 58: cannot add or remove a shape, body, or constaint from this callback", so i asked myself if it was possible to downgrade back to 5.2 or 5.3 let me know if you have a solution pls.

You can also look on the github page (github.com/ndless-nspire/Ndless) to see progress as it is made, though often there will be progress which hasn't been pushed yet.

My computer isn’t recognizing the calculator once plugged in with their special usb port

I don't know of a program off the top of my head, but the best way to find one would be to search around on tiplanet.org or on the ndless website.
what kind of benefits do i get from installing ndless (latest version) like what can it do?
There are many programs you can find on ticalc.org, TI-Planet, and ndless.me/apps, which require ndless to run. There are utilities, games, math tools (Like a CAS), and other programs like a micropython implementation.
Does it work on 5.3.2 or does it have to be on 5.3.0?
it should work on any version 5.2 and later. Just be sure to download the latest version.
EDIT: It will not work on 5.3.2 for now, but Vogtinator is working on an update.

@@jkazarov127 From the home screen go into Settings, and then from there go into status. It should show the OS version there.
i have installed the 5.3.2 version by error, is it possible to go back and install the 5.2 version?

does jailbreaking negatively affect the device? can i still use it on standardized tests?
No, there really aren't any downsides as far as I'm aware. As far as standardized testing goes, pressing the little reset button on the back of the device will remove the jailbreak, so you should be fine :)

ndless 5.2 can use in a ti nspire cx cas or only in cx II
ndless 5.2-5.3 will work on any calculator running OS 5.2-5.3. If you are on a different OS version you should use the version of ndless for that OS.

I'm not sure, I'd actually probably upgrade to OS 5.3 just to be safe (Since that's the latest version that supports Ndless). You can download the OS upgrade file for 5.3 here (Regular version): tiplanet.org/forum/archives_voir.php?id=2718792

@@scratch-agunner Download the file for the CX II (non CAS), then send it to your calculator the same way that you'd send any other program. :)
hey so its been 1.5 years since the 3.3.2 update is a new version of ndless going to release soon if so do you know when and if not are their any other ways to downgrade
Sadly, I have know idea when Vogtinator will finish the update. While he's working on it, he hasn't given any specific timeframe. As of now, I also do not know of any way to downgrade without ndless installed.

This works on all CX II calculators, which includes the CAS as well as the CX II-T/CAS.

@@AKZILLA Like I said in the video, you'll need to upgrade your OS to version 5.2. You can download 5.2 here: education.ti.com/nspire/update/tcc2
There should be instructions on the TI website on how to upgrade. So far, Ndless for the CX II only works on OS version 5.2.

Ndless Has Been Updated and so has the TI-Nspire OS!
If your TI-Nspire is now on OS 5.3, you can still follow the instructions in this video. Don't worry, it should still work :)
It will not, however, work on version 5.3.2, until Ndless receives another update.
Can you remove ndless after installing it?
You can remove it by resetting the calculator with the reset button at the back.

Support CAS version ?
It should support any model of TI-Nspire CX II (-t, CAS), as long as it is on the proper OS version. Make sure the OS version is 5.3.0 or below, since ndless is still working on support for anything above that.
