Awesome, I clearly remember this snapping turtle arriving at the camp and always wondered where she went. It’s incredible how wild she’s become…she was very tame when she arrived…awesome to see xxx❤
@@peterl7887 * big lizards and crocs * That he did, so it can't be a FULL takeover, but being neither of those eat everyday, maybe it could be a day of her caring for everyone else inbetween
I think she is a little to young, she has her whole life a head of her. I think getting her another puppy Will do her good. Like riding a horse once you fall off and your not broken get back on!
I agree I can't remember her name. I think Big Bertha works. Also happy to Sofia. Glad she's better, I hope she can move forward with knowledge but no fear. I was bit by a big dog and lost a bit of my lip and I understand how scary it is. I still love dogs and I hope she will too. Poor girl.
Damn Kate 👍 wrestling a big snapper by yourself 😀 didn’t expect that, you will be working with the crocs in notime. Nice to ser Sofia, I hope she is ok!
I believe everyone suggested Pumpkin for your female snapper because of the Halloween Decoration tub she came to you in but I couldn’t find where you actually call her by name or even say her name. You mostly just call her your “Big Girl” whenever you show or mention her. Love your videos and super jealous that you get to do this kind of thing. I live in an apartment right now so I’m living vicariously through you and my other favorite reptile TH-cam personalities. 🤘🏻☺️💕
The previous Owner told me her name is "Little Dude." They thought it was male. A predatory bird dropped the snapper from the sky when it was a baby. Perhaps her name should be changed, but I kind of like keeping it the same. This beautiful turtle has an amazing story!
@@aarone1981 Yeah I went back through the videos to find the one he introduced her to us in and watched it so I knew her story but he didn’t have a name for her in that video or the other couple I watched with her in it so “Pumpkin” from the comments was the best I could find. I agree with keeping the name the same whenever possible as I have several rescued/rehomed animals and any that had a name from the previous owner(s) I kept to try to make the transition easier on them and honor their past. Perhaps with this chunky, friendly *female*, however we might alter the previous owner’s name for her and call her “Little Lady” or “Little Girl” so it’s a bit better of a fit? Of course, this is up to Kenan and his family, but I definitely agree with keeping the name similar if not exactly the same.
I don't think she had a name yet, but she should be called Big Birtha! 😂 Good to see her again! She was the first Snapping Turtle I ever saw that wasn't completely covered in algae.
I was wondering what happened to the chunky snapper. Just shows if your patient Kenan will answer a lot of questions. Also love how curious about reptiles Sophia is.
Hey Kenan, if you watch Clint’s video on his snapping turtle, he found that by carrying them from underneath supporting their belly they don’t snap and then they will trust you. He can even pet his. He even proved it when the Mink Man visited and picked up his snapper like everyone else does and he immediately started snapping. Maybe you guys can do a collab next time he’s in Florida? Or if you are ever by his Reptile room in Utah?
Matilda is not this big yet :) this is pumpkin, that snapping turtle that came earlier in the year in a wallmart bin from a family that raised her as a pet, she was super friendly, and likely still is. But like all snappers she's gunna be pissy if you tell her no, and if you move her when she doesn't wanna go XD She was definitely MAD
I believe she's the one I suggested Pumpkin for the nsme because of the size of her and the box marked Halloween that she came in. It got over 300 likes and I'd never had any response like that before so i remember it well lol
She was so friendly when u got her and wouldn't snap and would let you pet her etc hopefully she is still friendly and just a little cranky at the moment
She calmed down right away when she was put in the water. I think she was just scared when she was dug out because she had no idea what was happening and who that was.
The tail spikes were rather prehistoric like the triceratop named "Cera" or Sarah if you will. Either that or Rose for the tail thorns like another viewer commented.
Maybe this big girl could be Selma or Patty? To keep with the Simpsons theme. I love the relationship you have with Sophia, being a step parent is the best thing in the world I think along with being an animal parent.
Snappers sure have a different face, but glad you came and found her. How long could she have stayed like that? I sure Kate had on proper shoes when moving the big girl 😉 and Sophia, just keep on going, Lobo,in his way really loved you, and May of been dreaming or just was surprised. Remember just like any animal they do things sometimes and are sorry when they hurt someone they love 💕. Don't let up keep reminding mom, and your step Dad about a dog, just not a guard 🐕. 🦎🐕🌝🧑🎓🐊🐢🐸🦮
It’s either NOW or NEVER kenan save that Snapple turtle like the drink 😂It is like they are cement in the dirt very hard to remove Alligator snapping turtles are my favorite ones‼️‼️
I loved that extra close shot of the snupping turtle. It made me little nurvous but it is so cute at a same time. I don't remember her name, but we definately need one!
Thier is footage of a large common snapping turtle taking down and preying upon a porcupine. It incredible how opportunistic they can be, snapping turtles such amazing predators.
Let Sophie film full time or part tume atleast... when shes up to it. Who knows maybe she takes to it and learns how to film animals in their environments across this rock. She's already got you to guide her and the interest in the animals to begin with.
Since she is from my hometown of Cincinnati maybe you could name her big red? The first ever major league baseball team and currently last place team could possibly use the luck! LOL go big red! LOL
Do you think she would have stayed buried until the next large rain event and then dug out to try looking for a new pond again? Could she stay buried 4-6 months or more if there wasnt a large rain event?
Happy to see Sophia doing good after the bite, shes such a tough cookie!
Also Snapper is such a little sweetie.
Awesome, I clearly remember this snapping turtle arriving at the camp and always wondered where she went. It’s incredible how wild she’s become…she was very tame when she arrived…awesome to see xxx❤
We need a video of "Sophia takes over the Kamp for a day". She would do amazing!
KENAN, do itttt. Me and my little nieces adore Sophia
That'd be so cute!!! Sophia goes to caimen creek. "Here I go taking care of the caimen." Jump cut to her mom freaking out
Didn't he just say in the last video she isn't allowed near the lizards and crocdilians

Awww good to see Sophia. Shes such an amazing help to have and constantly soaking up knowledge. Keep it up Kenan your raising some fine kids there
She looks so chilled in bio falls area/ wet land ..beautiful just beautiful 😍
Snapping turtles are the best! Personalities are awesome and they're super fun to interact with and feed
I just love the turtles with pig noses! Makes them so different ❤
What a dream…growing up in the Kamp!! Sophia is listening and learning. It’s really an honor to watch her growing interest and knowledge! Go Sophia!!
Love seeing the kids interested in the animals. What an awesome childhood!
I love how kenan always stops and explains things to us, and sofia.(more than making a video and it shows) She truly will end up taking over one day:)
LOVE the close-ups of this big girl !
Beautiful snapper. So awesome how turtles and tortoise adapt to situations.

Love seeing the kiddos interacting at the kamp. They seem as interested as ole Kenan!

The pond is looking great Kenan!!!
Omg i love when u record the water cause is so many guppy’s I love them men for real

Way to go Kate! 🎉 love this turtle lol 🐢🐢
Despite fear, Kate steps up... Wonderful Woman.
Wow she is huge! Super cool animal
You could use this angry one as your new guard turtle for the Kamp 🐢🐢🐢
Hi, Sophia! I'm so happy to see you in a video again. I hope that you are feeling better after Lobo.
I donated a 63lb Snapper to the Emerald Coast Zoo that tried to dig in a garden pond & destroyed the liner!
Please give a big Kenan hug to Sophia 🤗and bless kate for moving the snapper 😮Kate is an amazing tortoise ranger tho 🤗🐢
Great filming Sophia!
Hello great video information and update Kenan
My female snapper is extremely tame. She's about 3 years old and we interact with her daily
My snapper does the same thing he likes to dig down in the mud an chill until he hungry..😂
I was wondering what happened to the chunky snapper. Just shows if your patient Kenan will answer a lot of questions. Also love how curious about reptiles Sophia is.
Hi Sophia good to see you out and enjoy your day

You should put her over in Cayman Creek as well
She is so pretty! I missed her.
I feel like the turtle wanted to stay out of the limelight. She probably wanted a long nap without shenanigans 🤣. Beautiful turtle!
This snapping turtle was like me when I don't want to get out of bed.

Wow Leo has grown so much. You should name the snapping turtle Lucy.
Boy the kids gotten so big
Jeez, she REALLY got herself in there
You should put some tadpoles and frogs in the pounds. Would be super cool to see some big ass bullfrogs
I could see Sophia and Leo’s school asking to come and do a field trip over to Kamp Kenan
So beautiful!! 13:05
shes a beautiful snapper! its funny how baby fish end up in the wetland filter 😂
How about you name her Rose, because she has some thorns on her carapace and tail.
Cool

How come the urn isn't running? I always thought that was a nice feature in the wetland....
Love the videos
she is huge!
That HUGE for Kate to wrangle a snapping turtle!! I think she has a soft spot for turtles….
I’d call her Maggie and then you would have Margie and Maggie, they are truly beautiful creatures
Talk about camouflage!👍🏼💯🖖🏼
Call her Chely It’s from the genus species of the snapping turtle Chelydra serpentina.
Yes, but Shell'y, is probably half of teh female turtley names out there.
She didn't officially get a name. People wanted you to call her pumpkin because of the tote she came in.
Poor girl misses her family , the family that gave her away
That's a lot of assumptions you made there.
what a ham, keep it safe, also they are not as "aggressive" as many think. id rather play with a snapper than a pit still.
Who used to go out to dried up Ponds and dig up snappers in the summer and relocate them to our deeper lake on our property

Can you do an update on the alligator snapping turtles
I don't remember if she had one, but I don't think so. Either way you have Marge "Large Marge" you need a "Big Bertha"
:)
Since she is from my hometown of Cincinnati maybe you could name her big red? The first ever major league baseball team and currently last place team could possibly use the luck! LOL go big red! LOL
For a name how about Freya? Old Norse for The Lady ^O^ since shes definitely The Lady
Do you think she would have stayed buried until the next large rain event and then dug out to try looking for a new pond again? Could she stay buried 4-6 months or more if there wasnt a large rain event?
What was the white on the turtles shell?
I think her name was Dave, so you should definitely call her that from now on....
how's Sophia doing? hope she's good
I think her name should be Big Mama. It just seems to fit somehow.
