After watching all 3 Scotland games - something that's been infuriating has been the commentary.

I show total contempt for the SPFL, and i'm a Dons fan. There should be NO SPFL players in the Scotland squad until our game raises it's standards. McGregor and Ralston were two of our worst players in this tournament.

Shirt pulling means a yellow card, on top he leans into the defender, he does not even try to play the goal, he has only a penalty on his mind. Incredible how these pundits talk out of emotion. Hungary had a penalty call too, when one of their defenders was elbowed to the ground inside the box. We do not even know what happened before Varga got knocked out, we got zero replays on that. 5 yellows to Hungary vs 1 to Scotland is also somewhat out of proportion. Scotland was robbed by the manager not having a game plan. They showed no fight. Feel sorry for the great Scot supporters though. Hungary deserved a win by miles, 14 attempts vs 4 for Scotland.

So Euro event expanded to let the also rans in, and then we waste a two year cycle of qualifying, even though everyone other than Gibraltar, Luxembourg & Lichtenstein qualify, to get rubbish being served up by the likes of Scotland. Scotland have a similar issue to us, they put so much emphasis on getting out the group they play with too much fear , real shame , I watched Scotland in 1978 in Leigh Walk bar the Caledonian and if you told me then they would have this history over the next 40 years I’d have been astounded. I think they need to have a real look around at new players like Jackie Charlton did for Ireland, create a more together group and they will do better , felt for them earlier was a cruel blow to suffer but they just wasn’t good enough over the 3 games .

I mean, you do have a general point that the quality of domestic football helps. But... Russia, Czech Republic, Greece, Denmark, and Slovakia have all won the euros but never had a champion's league winner. France have had one.

Until we stop just being happy to turn up and sink a few pints and win plaudits for singing songs well... We go nowhere. Clarke must go. No balls. No guile. No ambition. No other nation at the tournament would sit with their nations player of the season and proven goal scorer on the bench.
100% ! I’ve watched teams at this tournament like Albania, Georgia etc… and they have so much more desire to win than we do. When I heard Andy Robertson (a ‘winner’ at club level) after the Germany game, I knew the game was up. He, along with the fans have just became accepting of us being poor and shrugged it off with the usual ‘we weren’t good enough, we’ll bounce back, we’ve let the fans down…’ 😴😴😴
I'm not sure those teams feel more desire or zeal to do well. Scotland were so aggressive in the Germany game, it was OTT. There are massive gaps in quality. The manager is also utterly bereft of ideas. In the Germany game he stood there looking absolutely clueless, made no adjustments. His comments on the ref should be condemned and he should be fined.

To be brutally honest, we got what we deserved. Clarkes tactics were far too negative throughout the tournament, but tonight in particular.
We had loads of possession, but did absolutely nothing with it. It was all wee tip tap passes between the midfield and defence. Hungary had the better chances, we were once more toothless.
It's time for a change. The players 30 and over need dropped, and a new squad built with the lads from U21's along with the younger lads who have already broken through - Ferguson, Patterson, Hickey, Gilmour...etc. A new Manager wouldn't go amiss either in all honesty. Someone who isn't scared to have a proper go.
