In all seriousness, though, this was fantastic. Pikachu’s performance and animation got the revamp it desperately needed, and it shows. Groot got more added to his amazing performance, and it was overall a really tough fight! You’ve got major talent. Seriously, because I started watching you, beatboxing has become a major nervous habit for me!

After what happened to pikachu on the old version this is really a big make over! Both of these performances sounded really amazing but in my opinion pikachus dances and performance overall sounded really good for only being able to say one thing where as Groot can say 3 words

Groot absolutely abused Pikachu
This definitely felt more like a "cuteness/charm competition" than anything else, but at least the beatboxes themselves sounded much better (not hard considering there were no background tunes to the originals, but still leagues better). I even liked the move references (Groot effectively performing Seismic Toss and Pikachu using Skull Bash). Both were good, but even putting my bias aside, I think I'd have to give the win to Pikachu (he def earned it despite the clear unfair bias against him the entire way through). Also nice to see they were somewhat friendlier to each other (compared to most of the other matchups in this series lol).

It's funny how ase wasn't even trying to hide his bias for groot over Pikachu, and yet Pikachu still likes him. Both of them apologizing to him in their own ways was funny. Groot using seismic toss on pikachu and Pikachu using skullbash on Ace was funny to see. And both of them talking caused my brain to stop brain-ing. But overall they were both great!

@@Maaz2360 Have to disagree extremely. Looking back on the older episodes, the animation was definitely rough around the edges, unpolished, & looked way unprofessional. Not to mention characters being drawn off model so their body proportions were messed up in a lot of shots. I use to prefer the old style because the characters were more expressive at first, but the new style has evolved to surpass that easily now.

I know this episode was in production long before GoTG3, but Groot saying something that VerbalAse can actually understand is really cute.
