I do a tier list for Pink Floyd albums, because that’s fun Music (In Order Of Use): Crime Pays (Instrumental) - Madlib, Freddie Gibbs All Spice - MF DOOM Licorice - MF DOOM
damn, a person that acknowledges shit i said in the vid (or that i say anything tbh), lately been thinking people just skip to the end, so hearing this is gratifying
Nothing like hearing other people’s take on their discography. I personally have always had a real love for piper, their earlier sound is just so whimsical and fun. Great video man
Good tier list, I also think WYWH is their peak. Though, IMO, Animals > DSOTM. The Wall is their second best in my opinion, but honestly I can see why people don't like it. You should listen to the '90 Berlin Live version of The Wall, though. Trust me when I say it has no boring parts. Good video.
animals over dark side is a take i don’t agree with but understand W for understanding the wall hate, not for everyone from what it seems like might tune into the vid, idk though, I’d have to be in the mood for it really thanks
The thing about The Wall is that Roger's voice is not everyone's cup of tea, and there was balance before because Gilmour sings most of the songs. That's why some people HATE, no, DESPISE The Wall. So if you listen to Roger's waters for... the hour and half that The Wall is, you start to realize how his voice is so moan-ey. "One of My Turns" and "Don't Leave me Now" can be a pain in the ass to listen to because sometimes his voice is just... ahh. You can't put it into words. Definetly not in a good way though, LMAO. The Berlin show however, has many other singers, so you don't have to suck up Roger's voice... for some time. The Wall's D side is in my opinion the best (The Show Must go On, In the Flesh, etc...) and it's awesome in the Berlin show. His voice is still not exactly the best there, still, but it's much more tolerable than the album version. There's also a whole ass orchestra on the background. Also, about DSOTM, I don't know. Never liked it too much. Speak to Me is really bland and just a boring ass song. Breathe is beautiful, though. On the Run is garbage. The rest of the album is pretty good, it's just that Animals is ... Animals. Dogs has some bland parts, but the ending is chef's kiss. Pigs is not only groovy, but the lyrics are also awesome. Sheep was never much of a pushover for me, but I guess it's there. Pigs on the Wings are alright. But I prefer Dogs, Pigs, and Sheep. Always.
The Wall IS two large pieces put together though. There is no separation between songs aside the tracklist. Also the only song I’d consider “filler” would be BTBBH. Every other song has a stablished purpose. It’s a beautiful album, and a masterpiece.
Yes, The Wall is the most overrated of the so-called "Big Four" in my opinion (the big four being Dark Side, Wish You, Animals and The Wall). My favourite songs from it are Comfortably Numb, Nobody Home, The Thin Ice, Is There Anybody Out There? and One Of My Turns... but the rest of the album is like whatever, like nobody ever called for the Pink Floyd song called Stop. At 30 seconds, Stop from The Wall is the shortest Pink Floyd song in existence. My ranking would be: 1 - The Dark Side Of The Moon 2 - Wish You Were Here 3 - Atom Heart Mother 4 - Animals 5 - More (I absolutely adore this album, i don't give a sh** what anyone else thinks, its a beautiful album, i listen to this album often) 6 - Ummagumma (I realise you ranked Ummagumma going by new material only, but i'm ranking ummagumma as a whole, live stuff included, i love it, i listen to this album a lot). 7 - Meddle 8 - The Wall 9 - A Saucerful Of Secrets 10 - The Piper At The Gates of Dawn 11 - Obscured by Clouds 12 - The Final Cut 13 - The Division Bell 14 - The Endless River 15 - A Momentary Lapse of Reason
@@IolZ555 maybe I just love Gilmour’s voice. Roger maybe a lyrical genius but I love the soft gentle sound of Gilmour’s vocals, I highly recommend you listen to his solo album called Rattle That Lock if you haven’t already, it’s so good.
