This is life guys, a lot of us had a job for a long time we didn’t care about, but the money was good and we learned to do it well, and faked it. I can’t begrudge anyone for doing this, he did it well, and put more time into it than people who love what they do but haven’t the drive.
I think there’s a difference between doing the 9 to 5 and making it work for you and pretending to be an authority on a subject and capitalising on that.
I’ve never heard of Finn McKunty. I’ve always been attracted to the more authentic TH-camrs like yourself. I don’t always agree with your opinions but that’s okay because I like to hear them anyway. Don’t go changing anything. I appreciate your genuineness and your humour in an increasingly artificial world.
None of this surprises me at all. I never could stand Finn Mckenty. He always talked like he was the world’s biggest music expert, then turn around and act confused and bothered by the people who listen to the music he talked about. Bit of a tool.
Totally agree with this take. Thank you for calling it out! I'm seeing more and more AI garbage in the feed these days. I hope people will come to value TH-camrs who are authentic and genuine, who don't chase the Yankee dollar with their tongues out. But if the algorithm's not on our side, how will anyone find us?
What I want to know is if Finn was claiming he just google stuff to make his videos and how it easy it was to make so much money than why did he choose to talk about metal/punk music? I don't think it's a surprise to most people that they're not really mainstream genres. I mean he only had like 4 videos breach over 1million views. Don't get me wrong I'm sure he made a decent amount of cash, but if really wanted to capitalize on just making videos for money why didn't he choose a more popular genre or topic? Like pop or rap music, or just talk about mainstream news. If he's out here calling people dumb for not using basic research to make money on videos, than the path he choose didn't really seem optimal when he could be talking about topics that would get way more views
He's listened to it all. He's exaggerating enormously. He's got the tats. He was friends with the hardcore kids before they were big. Still, I hope you do well out of this.

Cheers, that means a lot. TH-cam is an odd place now.

No one will and the pool of interest will get smaller and smaller (and that's no reflection on the quality of what you do).
Andy Edwards just uploaded a video of AI rubbish. You would get a laugh out of the first offering by Armadillo Wood. 🤣
Sorry Darren what's that Canadian reviewer you mentioned? I'm always up for honest music reviews
I don't know what you're talking about.
Thanks!

That’s a lie…a total lie! Merry Xmas to you and yours!
Ironic that as soon as you said the C word I got an advert. TH-cam can make money but you can’t.

There’s ZERO benefit for me. I was just commentating on a frankly bizarre story.
