People who live in *Tornado Alley* always seem surprised when these things happen. These type of storms seem to happen every summer. Remember they tend to happen more in open space but we keep building more and more towns/cities so these storms are more and more likely to hit them.
This storm produced hail up to 8 inches in diameter, a record for the state of KS, and almost a world record if it hadn't melted by the time meteorologists found it.
yup... lax local codes let em use crappy 1/2 inch plywood sheeting on the roofs and the "icemaker" product lands on the kitchen floor. contractors just point to the code.
