- In this video, I'm making a pencil tin microphone with 2 piezo mics. This means we can also use it as a speaker and a weird sort of filter thingy.

might be interesting on a bass guitar cab to give a bit more top end "tinny sound " texture element. maybe putting springs and or guitar strings , harmonica reads, inside to increase resonance . running drums through it , definitely a high pass filter with overtones
Yes, I'm thinking about 'stuff' to add to the tin, I'm actually thinking about marbles (if I can find any). Interesting bass cab idea!
@@abominablemusicMaybe steel ball bearings, rubber balls, interesting..
@@Hoptronics all good ideas! I found some old marbles, so I'm going to try those...
Amazing sound! Loved it!
thanks!
I’ve actually have had a crazy idea for a while that fit this kind of experiment.
Do you know about the old “telephone” toy where you take two tin cans and put a tensioned string between them?
My idea was to put a contact microphone in both cans and use it the same way you did here.
Yea, in the UK, we used to do that with yoghurt pots! In principle, it should work, the sound waves should travel along the string/cord and those vibrations picked up by the contact mics. It wouldn't be 'hi-fi' but could be interesting...
Be good if we could just hear the straight mic instead of the reverb bullshit.
yeah what the hell man why did he think that was a good idea
