What if you have a back yard *AND* a front yard? 3) Is the battery replaceable? What is its lifespan? How much is a replacement battery?
1) The top of the range models have the alarm, PIN code and GPS tracking. The lower spec models have the alarm and pin code, making it useless to any would-be thief. 2) If you have 2 separate front and back yards with no passage, you could have a charge station on both sides and alternate the mowing. 3) Yes the battery is replaceable. The answer the question regarding the lifespan of the battery it's hard to say however if similar batteries used in electric cars like the Nissan Leaf are any guide you can reasonably expect 5+ years of service out of those batteries. People are serious about their yard lines. I know i am. And this thing just looks like it aimlessly travels within the boundry you set
My MIL has one of these. There were places in her yard, where the grass was so fast growing and thick, that it would lay down instead of cut with a regular mower. It takes a couple of weeks to establish it's pattern. After that, there aren't any yard lines. The only problem she's had in two years, was that it would get stuck in the ditch, and someone would have to come over and rescue it. She had culvert run across the front, so no more ditch. Her yard is beautiful.
Lawn lines are completely unnecessary though. The only reason you like them is because it’s a proof that the lawn was cut. People always say what you do, until they realize their lawn is always perfectly manicured and greener and then you’re happy there are no silly lines and you simply have a beautiful carpet of grass

It would be awesome if Husqvarna worked on a way to bridge 2 or more docking stations and software updates that would allow multiple mowers in the same boundary wire. Cutting a 3/4 acre yard can take up to 2 days at the start of the season or if you lower the height.
John Starkie Ok. I guess I would rather have the mower(s) run less often. The only way I know of to get that to happen is if there are more mowers or they ran faster.

@@nerdydev I have a boundary wire all around my property. Trees and shrubs overhang the wire, and I keep them trimmed a foot or so above the ground, to allow the mower under them. Alongside paths the wire is located between the turf and the path, so that the robot runs a few inches onto the path. At the front hedge the wire is as close to the hedge as possible, so the mower is stopped, in places by the hedge and in other places by the wire. Part of the land (which we call “the Spring meadow”) has Spring bulbs. This area is protected from the mower, between Christmas and 23 June, by short wooden stakes. On 23rd June (Midsummer day) the long grass is mowed down to 1 inch, the stakes are removed and the mower works that area from 25th June to Christmas. We actually have 2 mowers. One mows the front lawn daily down to half an inch. The other mows the rest daily to 2.5 inches. The front lawn is an ornamental monoculture (ugh!). The rest is a fairly diverse ecosystem, which includes the boundary hedges, shrubs and trees. The British idea is to mow to the same length as often as possible; the American idea is to remove no more than 1/3 the length each time.
@@nerdydev Aah . . . . my misunderstanding. Sorry. When I started my H 435X it took a few minutes to link itself to the boundary wire frequency; there's a button-pressing procedure. I don't think it would be a problem. But, moving the machine from from property to property rather ruins the idea of "little and often". My machine works for a short time every day. I'm not sure that scurrying from client to client for a few hours every day is a good business model! Better, perhaps, to rent machines to clients. Or to install machines for clients.
HA HA, I THINK THE WILD BIRDS HERE WOULD BE TOO AT FIRST BUT THEY WOULD ADAPT TO IT AND GET USED TO IT AFTER A WHILE. THEY WOULD GET TO LEARN THAT THE MOWER ISNT GOING TO BREAK DOWN THE TREE THEY ARE IN AND ONCE IT TOUCHES A TREE IT WILL THEN MOVE AWAY.
Prices dropped still more expensive than a push mower but then again if it saves you 1 hour per week during spring and summer that will pay itself off in a season
Oh man I needed one of the wire burier machine thingies! I did an in-ground dog fence on 1.25 acres. Cut a slit in the grass with an axe and pushed the wire in. Took me like two days and nearly killed me!
I recently installed another in-ground system on a couple acre property. I used a sod cutter from a rental company to slit the lawn then pushed the wire in the slit. Worked FANTASTIC! Saved me hours and hours.
Questions 1). How much is it? 2) how much is it to replace when someone steals it and the charging station. 3) will the lawn look as good as when I do it or does the robot move in a random way with no pattern.
Dave, these mowers start around $1499 (US Dollar) and go up to $3499. The main difference between the models is the size of the battery, which will allow the mower to handle larger properties. As to the security of the mower one of the items touched on in the video was about the Geofence you can create. If the mower ever gets picked up without the code being entered in it will set off an audible alarm at the mower as well as alerting you on your phone that it's been lifted. If the person disregards the alarm and still takes off with it you can track the mower from your phone. Even if the mower gets turned off the GPS is still active. These mowers do mow in a random pattern. But they are also designed to be out in your yard any where from 4-7 days, depending on the size. Because they are out there so often they are only cutting a small fraction off the top of the grass each time they mow. We are just finishing up our second summer with our Automower and I can honestly say our grass has never looked better.
For this to work then this thing will never stop mowing. If the whole lawn is cut in 2 days then how can it cut the lawn only at night or whatever you set it to and cut effectively when it's on a random pattern...
CJ Something For the first 3 days you run it for all possible hours. When the grass is all the required length, set it to short periods every day, or every 2 days.
If you have a large yard with islands, shed, garden, etc. you’ll need more installation wire. If you can pay for it to be installed it would be cheaper than buying the wire install kits.
A look at the large ride on mowers at the home improvement store shows similar prices. I would rather have a quiet electric powered machine than a noisy gas powered machine.
Some of the prices of lawn mowers already went down to 1700 dollars give it some time il get cheaper as time goes on. It will be as cheap as an IROBOT.
@Anton Chigurh i bought one 3 years ago the moment i moved in to my new house, it managed to cut some really tall grass.. Just give it some time to get it down will take a few days. There is a comparison video from husqvarna i think where they let The lawnmower into a meadow and it cuts it in a couple of days or a week
It can handle long grass but it will only do that once, after that it just clips off what grew overnight, you never see clippings since they are only a fraction of an inch long. Works great!
i'm on video #10 of robot lawn mowers never actually cutting a single blade of grass. Can someone help a brother out by posting a link to one that is actually cutting grass that doesn't look like a putting green already??
That's because the lawn always look like a putting green after you installed the mower. You begin with mowing your lawn and then you install it. The mower will then keep it like that all the time.
How would it mow a treelawn since the guide wires won't be able to be installed under sidewalks? Or, if a front yard is split by a driveway, and the only access to the back is via said driveway and a gate? Tearing up concrete to lay guide wires doesn't seem very practical....
It isn't practical really , these would be handy on a small yard that doesn't require that much maintainence to begin with , same with robo hoovers , they will do an alright job in smallish areas , handy if you are out of the home or just lack time , but in reality not gonna do a great job and not practical , its a cool concept and probs works for some , but another gimmick that's very expensive
It’s not a bad price if you think about it. Riding lawnmowers are more expensive plus this would be great for seniors and like us because my husband is totally blind and I just had half my colon removed and have to have more surgery. Anyone want to buy one for us lol!!!
I am totally blind and I am thinking that this might be a great new toy. I would have to make sure that the line was set properly so it wouldn’t take off and visit my neighbors yard.
Wow even the bushes got greener at the end
The small pieces of grass that are cut off will spread into the bushes, which will result in greener bushes and more beautiful flowers ;)

How do these do with water puddles? Doubt I’d ever buy one but if I did I’d need to know. The video only said it did good in the rain but nothing about if it comes across standing water
depends on how deep it is, they say to park in during heavy rains, it can handle one inch deep standing water
Does it do lines?
Yep I'm sold, take my money
What happens to the boundary wire when I move ? Do you reinstall it at my new house ?
It's just a simple cable. Leave it in the ground and buy a new one for the new place.
How often do people move houses though in reality ? surely you could say that about anything lol , you had a 2 door garage , now you only have 1 , how are you gonna fit that big car you bought in it ? cmon man
hi, Can I use this video presentation on my youtube channel? as we have 5 Husqvarna automowers and looking to buy more. Please let me know! Thanks!
The best alternative to lawn mowing would be having a lawn that never grows past a certain height.
Or just to have a plastic lawn altogether.
Imagine using these on residential landscaping, like a route. You could be trimming bushes or lifting a tree, or blowing or whatever while it cuts grass for u
I do.
@@johnstarkie9948 how does that work with the boundaries?
@@nerdydev
I have a boundary wire all around my property.
@@johnstarkie9948 ah that's cool but the OP was referring to a contractor taking the machine to difrent clients properties.
@@nerdydev
Aah . . . . my misunderstanding. Sorry.
When I started my H 435X it took a few minutes to link itself to the boundary wire frequency; there's a button-pressing procedure. I don't think it would be a problem.
But,
moving the machine from from property to property rather ruins the idea of "little and often". My machine works for a short time every day.
I'm not sure that scurrying from client to client for a few hours every day is a good business model!
Better, perhaps, to rent machines to clients. Or to install machines for clients.
My husband is totally blind and I have a disability so this would be awesome to have!!! I may just buy one
Might have your husband read this, lawn service is less expensive and lasts longer than the warranty of the 450X
FYI, depending on your lawn it can get stuck and someone needs to attend to it.
Dude my cows would be terrified of this 😂😂😂
HA HA, I THINK THE WILD BIRDS HERE WOULD BE TOO AT FIRST BUT THEY WOULD ADAPT TO IT AND GET USED TO IT AFTER A WHILE. THEY WOULD GET TO LEARN THAT THE MOWER ISNT GOING TO BREAK DOWN THE TREE THEY ARE IN AND ONCE IT TOUCHES A TREE IT WILL THEN MOVE AWAY.
What are your cows doing on the lawn?
I think its great, but like everything else new will wait for price drop or people that get bored of their new toy & sell at a fraction of the price!!
Prices dropped still more expensive than a push mower but then again if it saves you 1 hour per week during spring and summer that will pay itself off in a season
Does it increase your electric bill?
yes to some degree im sure it is plugged in
Im impressed
We playing doom on these things now?
How can you dethatch if you have these wires in the lawn???
The wires are not in the lawn, they are around the perimeter.
dethatch before you install then after you don't need to dethatch
What happens to the cut grass that’s what I want to know ?
Will it cut Zoysa and St. Augustine grasses?
Would one of these be enough for a 1 acre lawn? If it works with a buried perimeter wire that's a no go.
You need the larger model. The 450x handles a two-acre property with no problem. You don't need t to bury the wire. The grass eventually covers it.
Roomba for your yard
These will be pawns in the inevitable robot wars
Are there any bigger robots that can change tools? Changing from a reel mower to a dethatcher. Then also do seeding, fertilizing and topdressing?
P8qzxnxfP85xZ2H3wDRV
You need a gardener.
Or a smaller lawn.
I have huge live oaks that shed in the fall. Is there a bagger attachment?
No this more of a mulching type mower... it doesn't have a large swinging blade either it has small ones on a disc.
Oh man I needed one of the wire burier machine thingies! I did an in-ground dog fence on 1.25 acres. Cut a slit in the grass with an axe and pushed the wire in. Took me like two days and nearly killed me!
Lol I would have given up and gotten rid of the dog 😂😂😂
the wire doesn't need to be buried
I recently installed another in-ground system on a couple acre property. I used a sod cutter from a rental company to slit the lawn then pushed the wire in the slit. Worked FANTASTIC! Saved me hours and hours.
Did it lower automatic?
Got this thing beat. We got goats that eat everything up. Occassionally it tries to eat my 2 year old too. Lmao.
Husqvarna please create robotic snowblower so we can mow grass round the year. Groundhog day for the grass.
English comprehension not your strong suit?
What path does the mower follow? Or random?
random
Can you make this so it can mow up to 3.5-4 inches? I'm interested but not if I can't keep my grass TALL.
yes
Sweet, thieves will love it!
Questions
Linden Outdoor Power Equipment very informative. I would to get one but dang they’re pricey but worth it. Gonna start saving for one
Linden Outdoor Power Equipment kids in my neighborhood don’t charge nearly that much
@@tamimen1 really doesn't seem that pricey to me, think about price of a riding mower.
@@MrBubbadon you are the cleverest person on the internet.
If it functions as well as they claim this could certainly be a viable option.
It does.
looks like a sloppy random pattern to me...waste of money
@@butchbiker9179 Not too mention the price tag on some of these models are 2000 , that's quite hefty
For this to work then this thing will never stop mowing. If the whole lawn is cut in 2 days then how can it cut the lawn only at night or whatever you set it to and cut effectively when it's on a random pattern...
CJ Something
For the first 3 days you run it for all possible hours.
When the grass is all the required length, set it to short periods every day, or every 2 days.
@@johnstarkie9948 I set a schedule with my iPhone. I control it with it as well.
What about autumn leaves?
I don't like my grass cut when it's wet. Will it stop in the rain?
yes, it has a raincensor
How Much Is It...... Nice AutoMower.
Husqvarna website has different models starting at about $1100 and going up to around $3000, this is depending on how many acres you need to mow.
If you have a large yard with islands, shed, garden, etc. you’ll need more installation wire. If you can pay for it to be installed it would be cheaper than buying the wire install kits.
How much is a replacement battery? $100 less than it costs to buy a whole new unit?
Nope. Only 50 dollars
Where does the cut grass go??? Do I have to go and pick it up and clean up after it? You don’t explain in the video.
Plan D Options
It cuts a tiny amount from each blade.
So little that I can never find it.
The tiny bits wilt down and fertilise the ground.
It does explain this in the video.
People who have jobs as mowers: oh no oh no oh no no no no
Auto mower: yeeeeeeeaaaah boiiiiiiiii
They go from $2,500 to $3,500... Great idea but too high of a price right now.
Ever priced a mower? That price is comparable to most mowers on the market. Not to mention the labor if you have someone mowing the lawn for you.
A look at the large ride on mowers at the home improvement store shows similar prices. I would rather have a quiet electric powered machine than a noisy gas powered machine.
Some of the prices of lawn mowers already went down to 1700 dollars give it some time il get cheaper as time goes on. It will be as cheap as an IROBOT.
i just go the canadian tire seasonal catalog and it's here for $1699.99 or $70.84/24 months
Worth every penny.
I got a ad for this exact mower on this vid lol
wery interesting mower!
Ok i have two questions.
1. Can it drive on uneven terrain?
2. Can i change the boundary so it can mow my lawn in section?
wherearemysheep1
1. Yes
2. Yes
Umm, do they have any footage of the mower doing a thing called, “cutting the lawn”
The squirrel that’s stuck in your lawn:
💥🩸🩸🩸
Where does all the cut grass go?
How come we never see it cut fresh grass? It just shows cutting already cut grass... I'll go look for a review.
The English used in this advert is adorably translated. 🤣
Will it cut down my hidden marijuana plants? 🤪
With the guide wire, you can easily protect areas that shouldn't be trimmed, such as flowers and pot plants - I mean plant pots
David Frau lol I like jokes
@@MrGiggity890 be carefull, it could get high and not find the way back to the charger station
if they are sprouts and you grow them directly on the ground and it is within the boundary wire
Swedish technology.
Always good!
Wow! This is awesome!
i'm on video #10 of robot lawn mowers never actually cutting a single blade of grass. Can someone help a brother out by posting a link to one that is actually cutting grass that doesn't look like a putting green already??
That's because the lawn always look like a putting green after you installed the mower.
You begin with mowing your lawn and then you install it. The mower will then keep it like that all the time.
Mine runs an hour every day.
The lawn is like a putting green all the time.
Was expecting the r2d2 scream at 6:29 for some reason...
Seems like a gps fence would be better and more flexible than an underground boundary wire.
Can it cut an acre
Yes there different models
Look like a Lamborghini centenario
I just want to play Doom on it.
