    What can you not go camping without?

      Haha, my nebulizer and inhalers!! I love camping, and campfire chilling, but I have asthma, and it usually gets stirred up, if I sit downwind from the smoke. So, I am grateful to have our new to us Jayco pop up with electrical outlets in it, and a booth to sit in. Our tent does have a cord portal in it, and we had the powerstrip, but it's just nice to know there will be a place to plug in without concern about tripping over a cord, or relying on my battery to be charged up. Its the little things in life, to make the trips Much more enjoyable. Weather, hiking, biking, and sometimes swimming can stir it up, too.😊
      Our young great nephew had to interrupt his campout with his cousins this weekend, because he had trouble breathing, and ended up in the hospital for two nights, because of it. I sure hope they prescribed him a nebulizer to use at home and on trips. My travel model has saved many trips. I take it everywhere.😏

      Real lawn chairs, like the old ones, not these horrid roll up things. Large folding tables. Charcoal lighter fluid, campsite wood is always wet these days.

      @@wendywilson1736 You're not alone when it comes to meds. Some of us need rescue inhalers or other such quick fixers -- always nearby, just in case. Thanks for the reminder. So sorry to hear about your nephew. Pretty heavy cross to bear for the young 'uns.

    As a person who deals with people stranded on the highway in cars/trucks/rv's. I would add anything breakdown related like jumper cables, 12V air compressor,good tire jack,extra electrical fuses, extra brake light bulbs, Id even say an extra spare tire if you have room. Nothing will get your wife and kids more upset then being on a highway calling for a tow truck at 11pm because you ran over debris and blew out both tires in a camper. Id also have a inspection of greasing the wheel bearings and proper tire pressure.

    Having been a Cub Scout leader we learned to work with minimal equipment. We use melamine dinnerware to keep items from the landfill. We also cook over an open fire 🔥 in Dutch Ovens and just bring an over fire grate to use our cast iron skillets. While i love coffee, I use instant coffee and a kettle in the camper. That way it can also make hot tea or hot cocoa. We tend to use multiuse items and not one trick ponies.

    • @wendywilson1736
      @wendywilson1736 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The single use items do take up a lot of space, too! We also rely on heating water for instant cocoa, tea, or instant coffee. We are camping, even though our newest tent has wheels, now. My 60+yo joints need to get off of even the airmattress on the ground, anymore.😏

    Great video! We are going on our first pop up camping excursion next weekend. I can’t wait.
    From our past tent camping experiences, I make our fire starters from toilet paper cardboard rolls stuffed with dryer lint. They work well.

      We go in just a few weeks. Looking forward to it. I made some fire starters like you mentioned, but I wonder if they will work. We have a lot of pet hair in our dryer lint, and wonder if burning hair is going to smell so great. Hope it burns away fast. I also used to tightly crumple up newspaper/junk mail, and stuff the tubes, too.

    Great video. We went on our first pop up camping trip this past week in our Reno area pop up camper. Great ideas in the video. I think that the cooler was our must have item. The fridge in a pop up isn’t very big so you need a place to store extra food, drinks, and prepared items from home. A lot of camp grounds will have ice or you can get them close by, so it was a big game changer. Thanks for sharing.

    We bought our first popup yesterday! 2021 rockwood 282tesp. We were not going to do new but used ones were hard to find. Family of 6 and we already plan to go to zions (we live in Utah) in 2 weeks. Excited to learn and explore in a camper. The last few years we have used out 12 person tent. Plan to live full time in a camper in the next 10 years. Figured a popup was a good starting point
