It is a money grab, they need more money to continue to develope the game, thats why they do it and also they need player feedback to continue the and, we pay them to QA the game, also, i agree with the minimum for EA, if they are able to sell 250k copies of this game they get 2 million USD on a very bare bones product making a lot of money.
JoE (Jaws of Destruction) and the failed attempt of "The Day Before" is a prime example of the dark side of game development, wich gives a really bad name to all the honest developers that need to use the EA program to continue the development of they games.
I agree with 99% of this! JOE is actually still in development! They finally ported it to UE5. And I've personally seen updates, but it's not content yet so I haven't covered it again
