It did feel like it was very high when I was at the top. A total contrast in conditions compared to to when I was at Great Hangman, which is the highest point on the coast path, I couldn’t see a thing when I was at the top that day!
Great video Paul, thank you for sharing. Golden cap looks like a very challenging section. 😮 Shame about west bay, that hill straight out of there is one that I did manage to walk up a few years ago 😎
Golden Cap wasn’t too bad, I remember Great Hangman feeling harder. I wish I had spent more time at the top, I feel like I pushed on a bit quick. Good excuse to go back I suppose. Yes it is a shame when sections are closed off, but the diversion was not a bad one.
That's some tough walking there, I've done that stretch going both ways before on holidays in the area. It's hard work doing it either way but Golden Cap is toughest coming from Charmouth! Sad to see yet another cliff fall has forced another diversion.
I thought that it seemed like a steeper climb from the Charmouth side. It was spectacular views for the top. Yes it is sad to have such a large stretch closed, but as far as diversions go this wasn’t a bad one.
Lovely video, as always. Well done! Are the diversions adding much in terms of time and distance? I wore my new Merrill trainers for the first time today and walked a short section between Gurnard’s Head and Zennor. They’re pretty comfy, thanks for the earlier recommendations 😊
Thanks Sandra. The diversions have been ok, there is another one on next week’s walk which did add a bit of distance and was through a residential area so that was not so enjoyable. I hope you get on ok with the shoes. I do love them, but I am a bit disappointed as my current pair have started to split and I think I only bought them just before my Plymouth leg. I suppose they do cover some miles though!
Hi Paul, another lovely well made video, this time on a section of the coast I know well. There can't be many more walking days left before South Haven Point hoves into sight, so any idea when that's likely to be, and then what's next on your walking hit-list?
Well there is 1 more video for you to see that will be out on Monday. After that there is only 4 days walking until I reach South Haven Point 😢 It will likely be August/September that I get back to finish it. After that I haven’t yet decided. Probably leaning towards the Devon Coast to Coast.
@@pilgrimpaul7798 Hi Paul, thanks for the info., looking forward to Monday's episode. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think any other walker has recorded the entire length of the SWCP, so I recon a compilation set of your videos would sit very well alongside any of the paperback guidebooks. Great video series Paul. 👍 You’ve given me confidence to try it as a through hike starting 1st June (a retirement present to myself). I’m not rushing it, so I might see you near the end if I’m still going in August 🤣
@@colingedgehaha thanks, maybe I’ll do a directors cut blue ray set 🤣 There are a few people that have filmed it before, but we all see it differently and each person videos are unique.
Beautiful day for a lovely walk😊
That looked like a fabulous day Paul, and a bonus finish of fish n chips, bingo and cabaret! Result. Going well fella, great weather too. Atb.
Perfect day for it mate. I must admit to skipping the club house. 1 pint with my meal and I was ready for bed!
Another great adventure. Golden cap looked crazy high, what a view from the top. Well done Paul for getting up it lol and also filming it.

Thanks for that Paul - my favourite stretch of coastline.
It is a great area, one I’ve not visited before.

Well done Paul thanks for sharing your video 😊
Thank you 🙏
Good to see you did'nt need a passport to get into Dorset😅 Dodgy place, being a Devonian 😊
Thankfully border control is a little slack on the coast path 🤣
