How to differentiate between granite and rhyolite on field?

Rhyolite will be very fine grained and you will have to use hand lens to indentify the minerals but granite on the other hand is medium grained which you can identify with naked eyes.

Will you call it a joint or simply a fracture?? There will be numerous fracture along the same direction in case of joints.

If there are numerous fractures such that lateral offset of the fracture faces are not visible then we call them shear fractures and not joints because they are not formed because of lateral extension rather shear fractures are formed as a result of shearing.
