I find this build/playstyle works best if you don't stick with the team as hard in the beginning. Try to flank and spank and don't stay in a fight where people know where you are unless you have mutual support on a flank. Take advantage of your speed and ECM. Definitely one of my favorite medium builds (ice ferret version)
Yes. I can actually do reasonably well with this one. I have the Rainbow Crow version set up with ECM and whatever flavor of lasers amuses me. You use it as a back stabber of skirmisher. Not stand up fights. Run in, shoot once, possibly twice if they are slow, and then run like hell.
@@ManicVandals It is just a difference in play styles. I tried again with the Kintaro, even with the build you suggested, and I still got my ass handed to me again and again.
The meta build is to drop arm armor (due to massive armor perks) and side torso armor to fit 2x Heavy Large 3x ER Medium with ECM. On the Rainbow Crow hero variant you have a huge laser duration bonus as well. This is affectionately known as the Suicidal Ice Ferret (although it still ends up with similar armor to the Viper anyway). One of the few meta builds that drops critical armor which i always thought was funny. The key to the ferret is to twist like mad and peek constantly. Side torsos and arms are tiny so twisting is extremely effective. Next to the incubus it's probably the best peeking Mech.
@@r3drumg33k3 Yep. I think they've demonstrated that it's by far the most annoying version of the Ice Ferret possible, especially in groups. First saw it on non clch guys tho (LtPoohPants and BooRadley who also do some good MWO videos)
This mech is way more effective when you have another lance mate to do ambushes. Basically one exposes and pulls someone into chasing them then the other will rear core them as they follow.
Yeah soup queue, which forces casual players to be fodder for tryhard trolls dropping in groups, is extremely toxic and annoying. Any time you can get normal pug drops, the game is much more fun and interesting to play.
The roughnecks are fun, great hardpoints on the 3a especially

00:25 the refrigerator
I don't think the Ice Ferret is for anyone. Unless you need a place to keep your beer, I guess.
Yeah put it’s stupid block head to good use

It's very boring, but 4 MPLs and ECM have been very viable in this mech
