      The eX Century cards are neat, would be a fun insert set to chase.

    Hey Mark, I'm new to your channel (discovered in the last week or so). Really enjoying your vids. I wish I could get this in the UK (we have basically none of these sets), 'cos Laura is one of my favourite Marvel characters. I think I would have actually exploded if I'd opened your sixth pack!

      Thanks for checking out my videos! I love that X-23 got multiple base cards and her own insert set. I'm hoping Laura Kinney has a future in the cinematic universe.

    Great video and congrats on the Tom Morgan auto pop culture! That insert set and the ultrabilities are the two I'm looking forward to collecting this time around. I managed to grab an Elektra base /25 when opening my boxes last night so I'm also likely going to focus efforts on a full suite of Elektra cards.
    It's a fun set, but a huge set. Aside from a lot of the basic inserts I don't really plan to chase EX Century (beyond one or two characters) and have very little interest in the other premium inserts.
    I don't know if I'll pay the blaster box price for 3 packs, and will likely plan to purchase boxes again when ePack comes around.

      I love the Pop Culture subset and hope the short prints aren't too difficult to obtain.
      Congrats on the Elektra /25 pull!

    Sad that the cost of such things essentially have made a niche market more niche.

    isit just me or do these cards look oddly super extra thick?

    • @icollectthings
      @icollectthings  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's not just you, they are indeed thick! I believe they are 80pt. The recent modern Marvel Masterpieces and Fleer Ultra all have this thicker cardstock. I use Cardboard Gold thick card penny sleeves and 100pt toploaders for mine.
      The thicker card stock has a nice feel to it, but takes up more space and makes storage more difficult.

      Flair has always been thick , I don’t think you collected cards in 1990- 1995. Made very nice NBA cards, these are no exception. We used to collect the 1990 marvel series ❤

      @@SkyNetGeneral- all i DID was collect in the 90’s friend, I know flair cards were always thicker than other brands and line/sets of cards but here on screen they just looked even THICKER than the thickness that i remember and collections i still have, dont know if its just the angle or the camera etc but yea

    With Upper Deck recently announcing that they have secured the DC license, I wonder what that means for HRO hybrid cards? Do you think that's why there's been no news about Chapter 5? I wonder if those are separate licenses, or if HRO will be toast in 2025?
    Either way, I eagerly anticipate DC Platinum...provided the price point stays the same...

    • @icollectthings
      @icollectthings  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a good question, but I'm not sure if there will be an impact or not. Hro's physical trading card output is less this year. They do have a small limited edition set coming up for SDCC, and a big chapter collection scheduled for the fall according to the timeline here:

      @@icollectthings For 2022-2023 HRO released two chapter sets, one in the spring and one in the fall, so it's odd that they "skipped" a release this year. I wonder about the health of the hybrid market. Their first SDCC Events set ended up on Amazon, and is still available. Gamestop is basically giving away Chapter 3.
      Speaking of questionable MSRP, Upper Deck has Fleer Ultra Wolverine blasters up for $35...
