TMRC Billet Housing Update

  • A look at some of the latest updates and features we've been developing for our Modular Billet Housing over the last several years.
    Now in its fifth iteration, the TMRC Billet Housing was originally designed over 10 years ago in response to issues generated by a surge in performance that door slammers were starting to achieve on a regular basis. This power increase began to reveal several weaknesses present in modular housings constructed through a traditional casting process.
    Machined from 6061-T6 hardened aluminum alloy, TMRC’s billet housing demonstrates remarkable strength over traditional cast and welded floater housings and has proven itself through thousands of laps at racetracks worldwide.
    The modularity of billet housings allow for hundreds of variations in 4-link spread, wheel to wheel spacing, bracket styles, shock mounts and more; all of which can be easily changed at home or the racetrack.

    Ladies this is what gear heads think about late at night, in that perfect lottery winner world where we order every part we ever wanted. this is possibly the most beautiful race car part I've ever seen in my life!! Look at all those adjustment holes doubled up. So much room for activities!!!!!!

    When you said you can never get a welded rear end to have 0 toe on both wheels at 36 inches, you could machine the housing ends after welding to achieve 0 toe

      You could compensate for it, but you would be adding weight. I wonder if rotary friction welding would keep it straight.

    As it would be a beautiful thing to be able to afford one of these modular units. Unfortunatly budget requires me to continue to chop and weld.

    WOW! Nice product.
    Tim, you are doing a fantastic job with these videos. They are so professional and cover such good content. I'd say they are TV quality. (hoping that isn't an insult) Are you bucking for your own TV series? LOL I think I must have watched all of them recently while working out in my shop or sitting in my office.
    I'm really curious about the build you guys did for Sean at MidWest Street Cars. I know he wanted his car to be a modified door slammer and you did an excellent job of covering that for him. Is there a way you can show and tell about building one of your chassis's and attaching a metal door car to it. I was considering doing that for my 70 Chevelle.

      We did not build Shawn's car. He purchased a large number of kits and components that were used in the construction at Don Dial Race Cars in Oklahoma.

  • @chrismansker8870

    so why couldn't you just repair a welded housing instead of scraping it ? the billet housings look amazing but expensive.

  • @ldnwholesale8552
    @ldnwholesale8552 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    But the obvious. Super square but 3 foot wide so you have HUGE amounts of wheel offset flexing all over the place, worse with big wrinkle walls. In chassis that are totally bound up so as soon as the car gets loose the wheels are off the ground. And dont start me on 'sway bars' that bind things up worse.
