- Hi guys, and welcome back to my channel! If you’re new here, my name’s Rachel and I’m a musician and overall eurovision fan. In today’s video, I watched the brand new music video for Måneskin’s new track ‘Mamma Mia’, and my goodness it was full of blood alright.
Damiano died three times I mean wtf.
It was a … choice. But very well shot and choreographed with some great visuals in there.
Let’s hope they make some more somber music in the future with more meaningful ‘Torna a Casa’ type videos.

I was just picking the last sentence by Maneskin at the end of the video. personally I agree with them is not he best but the worst among their song. just my opinion of course
For celebrity day at my school I dressed up as Damiano in this music video I thought it was pretty funny lol

The video was EPIC. So funny. I think Måneskin's intention with both the song itself and the video were to poke fun at stereotypes. I also thought the "rest in piss" was hilarious. And none of the other band members hate Damiano, but they definately made fun of the typical "lead singer vibe". Even just Damiano's shirt "it's all about me".....so much fun
It's just so refreshing to see such a young band with such an identity - musically and visually.
Mammamia is already at second place in Billboard Hard Rock chart. First place IWBYS. 👍😉

I'm not the biggest fan of the song, but found the video hilarious 😆 It's graphic of course, but so over the top and made with humour that I didn't find it at all uncomfortable to watch. I'd love to know who came up with the concept of killing Damiano though, was it him or one of the band members, or maybe someone else? I kind of hope it was Damiano's idea, so he doesn't need to worry if one of the others is secretly planning to kill him 😉
I saw someone say that the music video refers to the stereotype of rock band members hating their frontman

Before Victoria kills Damiano, have you noticed the 3 holy mary little statues under the writing "boys will be executed" ? Also, Damiano's left hand moves once when Victoria is stabbing him... because victoria in one take stabbed him in a part that was not protected causing real pain!

I think the video is inspired by the Italian horror films of the 70s by director Dario Argento and at the same time also has a bit of the style of Quentin Tarantino, I know that the director who shot it is a famous English director, probably seen the period he wanted to give a halloween image 😁 then it is part of their idea of making fun of stereotypes, in fact Italian machismo is represented and also the fact that everyone thinks that the members of a musical band want to kill their leader to take his place, when in reality the Maneskins love each other as brothers, anyway thanks for the reaction 👍 a greeting from Italy from Alessandro

Loved your reaction, you are always so genuine, sweet and entertaining! The video was definitely too much for me when I watched it the first time. I was actually a bit disappointed and didn't get it. But then I went looking for interpretations of the storyline, and after seeing many of those, it started to make sense. I can appreciate it now, even if it still is too graphic for my taste.
My take on it is that the lyric video they released first is actually kind of a sequel for this - here the band members are murdering the stereotype of a diva in the band and then they actually hang out in the car, all four as equals, jamming to their song.

I think the song paired with the song has two meanings:
- Get fun of all the bad things pepole said about the band and Damiano specifically after Eurovision ("I am not drunk, I am not taking drugs, you ask why I am hot, because I am italiano"... a small shade to our french cousins here I think, lol. Plus a fan approached Damiano and basically licked his face, so I think the words "You want to touch my body, it's not allowed" is referred to that).
- Get fun on the frontman stereotype. As somebody else said, Damiano's shirt says it all. "It's all about me" and sometimes leads have annoying attitude about being the face and the most important person in the band, so they are symbolically killing it/him.
It's not so easy to catch, but when the band is on stage, you can see how the other three are visible annoyed by the diva attitude of Damiano. Of course is a joke, a frontman NEEDS to be a diva, but I find quite refreshing for a band to say it loud when they need to.

I understand how the blood/violent imagery can a bit too much for some people but as a slasher fan myself and especially around Halloween season, this was right up my ally. I also loved how ironic everything is, the concept was done very well.
This is inspired by Dario Argento's italian horror Movies like "Suspiria".

I think the song it’s a break from last album to new coming album.. and it’s a silly break to answers about some haters stereotypes told.. like the Eurovision references about his consumption of drugs! ltaly has a cinematic tradition of ultra-ultra-violent and creepy films. Those films were shot n Cinecittà, Rome. So here no shocking for an ltalian. We find funny graphic violence, we can laugh on it. Here are the descents of Colusseum audience, so hardly we are shocked by violence on fiction

in Italy we love english music very much, for example when the brilliant Frankie Goes to Hollywood with "Relax"came out they caused much more scandal becoming one of the symbols of the 80s to then sing, on the contrary, the mystique masterpiece "The Power of love"; I still love the Pet shop Boys and the Culture Club: "Do you really want to hurt me" is always an amazing song ... needless to talk about the greatness of Pink Floyd, David Bowie etc.

Hello. I analyze Mammamia's video. It is known that the group rocks, but the main attention in reality is on the singer. Damiano also wants to give prominence to others because they are first and foremost friends and then a group. The fact is that the video is made to belittle him, but in the same way it is also because the human being to the demons and in this case envy. Hi Rachel, congratulations for the hair, I like them very much, mine are also so but blond. We must fight against the stereotype of anti-frizz hair! it is natural that they are when there is humidity. It's all written on Damiano's shirt "All about me" and therefore the others try to kill him because for the stereotypes the front man is the one who captures the attention, while we know that Maneskin they are completely far from this concept. Same thing for the Rock bands that must necessarily be all sex and drugs usual stereotype and it is no coincidence that Damiano wrote Mammamia in response to the accusations during the Eurovision. Not to mention the stereotype of the Italian who must necessarily be a libertine macho (cause I'm Italiaaaano) I remember during the interview with Hurracaine the central gorgeous singer spent the whole interview saying she wanted to marry that "hot Italian guy"! In conclusion all messages against stereotypes in the Tarantino-style Pulp version that fits perfectly during Halloween but DAMIANO NEVER DIES!
Maybe it's just the fact that's it's EXTREMELY graphic that somewhat keeps it from crossing the "unwatchable" or "unacceptable" line: since the very first time I watched it I ran althrough it without feeling particularly impressed and easily focused on the ironic intent.

Il video è forte, tuttavia bisogna contestualizzarlo nel suo messaggio che, a mio parere, riguarda la sfera del subconscio.
Ritengo che alcune scene siano omaggio a film come Trainspotting, irreversibile, kill Bill. Il risultato è tutto tranne che banale, la visione è sconsigliata ai bambini, per il resto rimane sempre il tema di fondo, che vuole normalizzare le relazioni tra gli esseri umani, non legate da stereotipi e principi anacronistici che di fatto annichiliscono le società.

Am I the only one who likes better the first promo version with lyrics filmed in the car to this one? A single long-take-shot in a hyperrealistic red and green 70's style. Franzied montage with blood and stuff of the official version is alright, more refined, accomplished, technically flawless, and provocative. The director did a great job of stylizing the violence to make it less disturbing. But I rest my case
