I was very moved and charmed by your story. It’s not often you hear a man speak so lovingly about his wife after so many years of marriage. You’ve set such a beautiful example for your sons. Glad to hear that Hope is feeling better.
My husband and my first date was also at a local park. He still says I "lured" him with tuna sandwiches and fritos. We were married in Aug 1972 and Gary is 4 years older. We were married at 16 & 20 years old. God has been so good to us. Really enjoyed your story.
1972 as newlyweds and saving hard to build our home we would spend time with friends doing the same. Picnics, popcorn and monopoly, simple meals was how we socialised. That time was one of the best times of my life. Putting money away each payday in envelopes for bills and in the bank for our house and both having the same goal made it worth it. By 1975 our house was being built. It’s easier if you spend time with friends or family that have similar interests and ideas. If your friends are party animals and always blowing their money they won’t understand you being frugal, mix with people with similar plans and ideas.
In a world where divorce is so common, your relationship/marriage is inspirational. Thank you for sharing such private aspects of your lives, much respect to you both. Keeping Hope in my prayers, feel better soon. 🙂
Thank you, Kimberley. Hope and I won't even use the "D" word in reference to our relationship. So glad you enjoyed the story and Hope is very much on the mend.
I absolutely LOVED this video! Larry please do more of these "Blast From The Past" series with your home videos. We would love to see them! Actually, I would love to see Hope's perspective and Hope's side of the story some day.
Definitely knew she was a keeper when she didn't mind pushing the car. Hope, your picture is gorgeous behind Larry. So pretty! Thanks for sharing your story.
Meeting when frugal and broke is the sign of true and deep love IMHO! I met my husband because the mailman mixed up our mail and delivered his to my address. I'm excited to hear your story!
You’re a wonderful example to young people of a Christian marriage that can overcome a lot of life’s struggles and still remain strong. We learn so much from you two. Thank you and stay blessed!! P.s we loved seeing your photos from the past💕
What a beautiful Christian marriage the two of you have. Very sweet! Get well Hope and stay well Larry. I have my oldest granddaughter in college down in Bloomington and my sister lives in Glen Ellyn. I went to Trinity College in Deerfield, Illinois where I met my husband. Miss him everyday!
Thank you for sharing your story, and I, especially, like the fact you two wanted to do God's will when it came to marriage. David, my husband, and I made that our first priority when we were seeking a mate. We have been married for 50 year going on 51. Seeking God on decisions have been the best way to deal with ANY problem or directions we should take in our marriage. I love how you praised Hope and show such love for her. Praise God!
Thank you for sharing your life, knowledge and never ending wealth of knowledge with us. So thankful for technology to make this possible. I don't have anyone around me to talk about finance and frugal living but thanks to folks like you out there on TH-cam land my horizons are expanding. I'm forever grateful. Much blessings for such a lovely couple. Ya'll are great! Cheers!😇✌️
Enjoyed your story. We have been married 51 years. He was six years older, our cultural background very different but managed to blend our tastes and money visions. Today we are still frugal for many reasons yet are now Learning to spend our money more freely. Do share more. Love your banter when you present together.
I'm just now watching this 3 years after you recorded it. I have to tell you, I thoroughly enjoyed the video. I've been subscribed to your channel for about a year now. I love what you do, and I follow a lot of your advice. You two have given me a lot of knowledge. My husband and I met online (not a dating site), and have been happily married for going on 15 years. I have taught him how to be frugal. 🙂
Thank you for all the time and effort it took to put this video together. I loved that you were able to incorporate video footage and photos. Of course we missed Hope getting to be a part of the commentary, but Larry you really really did a great job! I think this is something your children will enjoy keeping a copy of for years to come as well. 😊🙏🏼❤️
Thanks so much, Kathy. This was part of my broadcast interests. I loved working in television. I will keep a copy for the 4 boys. In 1997 I did a 3 hour interview with my parents. That's a real treasure. They are both in Heaven now and I watch it about once a year. It brings a smile to my heart.
@@larryware1 oh my! What a treasure that interview with your parents must be! I rarely think to grab a camera for much of anything. I know how much I enjoyed watching your footage that you captured though, so I can only imagine that it is (and will continue to be) such a beautiful gift that will keep on giving for years to come. Thanks so much for allowing us to be among the recipients that gets to enjoy it! You and Hope are both great with presenting information. We can really see all of your efforts in these videos. 😊
@@tacos_are_life - So glad you are enjoying these snapshots from our lives. Thank you for your kind words. From the time I first had a camera (1968 - age 11) I wanted to capture ordinary views of my life to share with my kids someday. They have plenty of material to look at.
What a fun tribute to your relationship that I’m sure your children will enjoy keeping. BTW, I am from Bushnell, and my mom’s first teaching job was in Elmwood! Small world.
I absolutely love your story and the fact you were and are both believers !!! And these old videos are awesome. It’s like God was preparing you for TH-cam before there was even TH-cam !!! Beautiful story !!!

Very beautiful love story. My husband was born and raised in Wichita KS. I was born and raised in Massachusetts. Even though we met later in life, we had a very deep connection. He was the nicest person I had ever met in my life. Eventhough our time together was short it was memorable. I thank GOD every day for the precious time we had together. You two really are a match made in heaven. I wish the young people today could understand how important being friends is and important God is to be the center of all you do. Many more years for you both.
Larry and Hope, you were both born to broadcast as you are naturals, and thanks for taking us on your lifes journey which I am sure has many more sunny day days ahead of you
Great story. The devotion you have to her is wonderful. I really hope to have a happy marriage, too. I have an amazing person in my life and I don't want to let go of him! My boyfriend was my first boyfriend, but we only dated for a few months (I was 13, he was 15) before we broke up. We didn't get back together again until I was 31! Have been together now for almost 3 years and it feels so right. Sometimes the timing doesn't work out and although we both wish we got back together sooner so we could have more time together, life happens and everything happens for a reason.

Loved, Loved, LOVED this...you had me laughing out loud several times...Larry (and Hope (because afterall you are one)) nailed it...outstanding job by a most admirable (and adorable) couple! Glad to see you'll be back at it this Friday Hope :)
Hi Larry and Hope this is a very nice video learning how you first met Hope. Very sweet the 2 of you are great with each other. Thank You for shareing with everyone.
I enjoyed this video so much. So sorry hope was sick, but glad to hear she is better. My hubby and I met when he was 44, and I was 26. Married 9 months later,he was 44, and turned 45 5 days later. I was 27. Neither of us have any children, just he and I. We took care of parents until their passing. He is my best friend, and are our personalities are a lot like y'all's. He could never leave the house, and he happy, and I never meet a stranger. LOL.
I'm viewing from Scotland and I'm am a new Sub. plus new to viewing this wonderful channel. Clearly I am watching many, many videos way late but I have enjoyed all that I've viewed. This has been my favourite thus far and made me smile throughout. A beautiful 'love story' from a passionate gent who truly loves and respects his lady. I'm now very hooked! Almost 80k subs must agree.
Hope, I have exactly the same tracking issues -- I only know where my keys are because they're attached to my purse, but then I can never find my purse! And I'm constantly using the land line to call my cell phone so I can find it. I also put many, MANY icons on my desktop. In my case, the reason why I do all these things is because I have adult-diagnosed attention deficit disorder. There are so many cycles running at once in my brain that there's very little room left for keeping track of the location of personal items, and I keep so many icons on my desktop because they're visual reminders -- for my brain, out of sight definitely means out of mind! One of my workarounds is to leave myself little hints and notes so I don't try to keep things in long-term memory -- for instance, if I buy a gift for someone way ahead of time, wrap it and put it somewhere, I will simultaneously make a note on the calendar to remind me about a week before that person's birthday (or about a month before Christmas) that I already have a gift for the person AND WHERE I SQUIRRELED IT AWAY. Best to the both of you!
I absolutely LOVE you guys! I wish I knew you in person. I wish there were more people like you two in the world. You can tell your very humble, giving and loving people
I'm so late to this video, but I wanted to say I'm really enjoying it AND ALSO I think that starter issue might have been a common problem with chevettes 😅 - in the late 80s/early 90s (in the UK) my parents had a little pale blue chevette and one of my earliest memories is peering through the back windscreen (time and time again) at the people pushing us when it wouldn't start!
It's so funny to me that I have been watching your videos for about 6 months and I just realized that you guys live right by my home town. You posted pictures on your last video of eating at "Grandview drive". I thought for sure that was peoria! You confirmed it today. I grew up in chillicothe and then moved to Dunlap after I was married. We moved to Orlando FL at the end of 2019. I just have to say small world!
Larry you did a great job! Your love, respect and admiration for Hope is always evident, but even more so in this video!! Feel better Hope! Prayers for continued recovery.🙏🏻💜

How about that, Shannan. Yes, it's a small world. I know some people from both Dunlap and Chillicothe.
