Such mehfils nd programs r infact treasures of knowlege to explore and know about indigenous minds nd souls who left for us a heritage nd legacy of excellence, a nation is proud of.Indeed Gulzar sahib has reincarnated Ghalib Assad ullah Khan and has been quite amazing in taking us to the times of Ghalib at Balimaran in Delhi....Mian Yousuf Sallaudin has been wonderfully instrumental in reviving our culture nd heritage through his efforts with amazing presentation...Certainly there could have been no choice other than Nasir Ud Din Shah as Mirza Nosha,Ghalib and Jagjeet Sing g RIP..............

Simply amazing the way ghazals were composed by Yusuf Salli saab. Best ghazals which stood out in terms of singing were

शे'र आसान भी मुश्किल होगा।
तू तलातुम से न घबरा जाना,
दूर कितना भी हो साहिल होगा।
जान जाएगा हक़ीक़त क्या है,
तू अगर होश से ग़ाफ़िल होगा।
बल्ली मारान गली कासिम जान,
घर में 'ग़ालिब' के तू दाख़िल होगा।
Since last 2 years i hv listened and watched this programme about 10 times and still its refreshing...lots of thanks...!!! Ghalib is still out of my reach...par ek Shamma hai dalil-e-sahar so khamosh hai...!!!

Ali Raza was a new name for me but he did exceptionally well.
One thing is that the sher read (or sung) at @ (khuda k waste parda na kaabe.............) was not Ghalib's. It is not even from any other ghazal of him but belongs to Bahadur Shah Zafar from his ghazal "wo sau sau atkhaton se ghar se baahir........."

OMG, Although I have great respect for Galib S but I feel depressed when I listen to him,feel the hardship he must have endured.True it’s difficult to understand him. Where as Sir Iqbal S, gives peace and hope,I e, Saray Jahan, lap pay ati..
ruby shah there is one couplet of ghalib that always breaks me;
'Raggo'n me daur ne him nahi qayil
Jab ankh se hi na tapka to lahoo kya hai'
If you know Ghalib history, then you know all of his kin were still born or didn't survive infancy. His brother suffered from mental illness and died. I've cried until my eyes swell at this first line because I have lost kin and can relate. But his pain must have been unreal.
Ghalib really should not be called depressing. Ghalib describes human emotions in a fantastic way.
This is just an amazing presentation. I have been listening this for many many years.
