I was unable to grasp what second lead syndrome felt like before this show. Not only was Baek In Ho the sweetest soul, very funny and one of my all-time favourite drama characters, I also strongly disliked Jung because of his constant manipulations. And this, in turn, soured Go-eun's character for me (whom I also strongly sympathised with in the beginning), because she kept falling for his crap over and over again. It really bugs me that they (sort of) ended up together, as their relationship certainly isn't a healthy one.
Spoiler : I'm a webtoon reader . Jung and Seol finally ended up together , Jung changed for better , Seol became a bit more cold and calculative when it calls for .. Inha developed herself and got a decent guy. In ho just left ... we don't even know what happened to him anymore. Apparently he was working hard for his music career but it was harder for him with his hands . It broke us completely.

Normally in these kind of dramas they surprise us with making up the girl with second lead at the end if he is this dominant as a character and take a huge part in the story. I literally thought that she would lose interest in the lead and then go for the second so the ending really made me sad.
Well the production company really did give seo kang joon more and more scenes, its annoyed the fans of the webtoon and the webtoon writer developed a bad relationship with the director.

Seems LIke in the comment section I am one of the fews who ships Seol with Jung. Yes the SLS was really hard in the drama and Jung was kinda manipulative but the relationship he had with Seol wasn't toxic. To be honest it was one of the most realistic relationship, they showed that not every relationship is roses and comfortable from the start, it grows from a certain awkwardness as people get to know each other, embraces each other flaws and teach the right as Seol embraced Jung's flaws and taught him to be honest and show emotions which people clearly could see Jung trying Whereas Jung taught Seol to be strategic. I could write a whole damn novel about why I would've chosen Baek Inho over Jung. I read the webtoon three times and watched the drama series once and my opinion doesn't change.
i am currently watching episode 2, and i mean i think after watching this video i can already see that i like the second lead better, and i know they won't get together. So i probably won't continue watching. Besides the show isn't really tense and exciting in any way in my opinion. But it's a shame, it looked funny and good.
Unpopular opinion, but I really do ship Jung and Seol. It's true that their relationship isn't always exactly normal and good but that's what makes it so realistic and poetic, because the whole point of the drama is to show how (in life) everybody is messed up in their own way and how everybody has flaws, you just need to find someone who will except every part of you, good and bad, the parts they like but also the parts that they don't like. They hated each other in the beginning because they judged the other on only one bad assumption and a misunderstanding, but they both grew to realize that the other is so much more than what lies on the surface. What makes their relationship great is the fact that they worked hard to understand each other, and also came to the point where the one was willing to let the other see their own vulnerabilities. They complimented each other really well. Jung taught Seol a lot about self worth, he also loved her more than he loved anyone else and always put her first (something that her parents never did) and, in his own twisted way, protected her. Seol loved him unconditionally and excepted that he had many sides to him. She easily figured out that he puts up a front and actually saw the real him(or at least a part of the real him). She managed to keep unraveling him until all she saw was the real him (scared, lonely but also a fun, childlike side was revealed). She didn't like that he was manipulative but she didn't pressure him to change, she allowed him space to come to terms with the fact that what he does is wrong. Because of her he started to face the scary truth about himself and in the end of the series he realized just how damaged he was. He wanted to be better, not only for her but for himself too and he knew that he needed space to do that, which is why he needed to let Seol go at that point in time. They inspire each other and both accepts the other wholeheartedly, flaws and all. It's a whole new definition of true love. It isn't a normal romance but's it's perfect in it's own way. ALSO: Seol and In-ho really do love each other and help the other one grow, but the way I see it is that it's a family kind of love. Even tough both of them love their actual siblings, they had to give up a lot because of them. Seol and In-ho understand each other because both of them had felt that kind of responsibility. In-ho develops a crush on Seol which is understandable, but the fact that they overcame the awkwardness proves that what they have is a bond beyond romance.
Did you read the webtoon? Because your analysis contains so many more details that are relevant to the webtoon rather than the drama. I love jungseol but I haven’t watched the drama, which i know is more focused on inhoseol and misrepresents the story!

Even tough both of them love their actual siblings, they had to give up a lot because of them. Seol and In-ho understand each other because both of them had felt that kind of responsibility.
