Thank you so much, I was driving home without knowing how to turn them on and multiple people tried to communicate it to me on the road. I was panicking haha. It’s all sorted now
Thanks! I took my car in for an oil change, and I guess they didn't like my auto setting on my lights. Well, a few days later, I was driving early in the a.m. and realized my lights weren't on. I couldn't read the pictures on the dial as my reading glasses weren't with me. So I pulled up your video and changed the lights back to auto at the next light! Thanks for being my eyes on that trip. 👀 lol
This was so helpful , I’ve been riding without any headlights on wondering why I couldn’t see lol I thought the automatic lights were bright headlights smh, thanks for saving a life !!
My understanding of Automatic Light Setting is that the car will automatically, depending on the condition will change setting to whatever the car is doing at the time-stationed or on a road trip.
Is there a way to turn off the chime when you turn the car off and are getting out and the headlights were on automatic. It chimes to tell you the lights are on but I don't know how long they stay on, but on automatic its confusing
Is there any way to turn off the DRL daytime running lights while parked? I tried using hand parking break, some other cars turn off the DRL when hand break is on, but I can't get mine to turn off no matter what I do except turn the car off
Mine turns off if the headlight switch is in the 0 position off switch and mine turns off when I put the car in park. I wonder if you have the Canadian drl some laws require the drl to be on no matter what. There is a way to disable it but if drl is a law where you at and you disable it you can get a ticket for that
Hello from Illinois! I have a 2012 Ford Focus SEL. Needless to say, I financed this vehicle used a year and a half ago at almost 83,000 miles, and I have 103,458 miles on it now. Since day one I've been scratching my head on how to turn the headlights completely off while the car is running. It sucks that I have to turn the car completely off to turn off the headlights. My light switch looks exactly like yours. While the car is running, turning the knob to the "O" position just dims the lights, but it doesn't turn the headlights completely off. I hate that! I'm not sure if that is DRL feature or what. I've taken my car to a few local mechanic shops, and none of them could really give me an explanation. I know that if I take my car to a Ford dealership I'll get the answer I am wanting, but the problem is they want $130+ just for a diagnostic. I work in security, and the post they have me assigned to is a car site. Meaning I am in my vehicle the whole shift keeping an eye on the client's property. I do this year around. Unfortunately, I have to use my car for this. I work third shift. It's hard to be inconspicuous when I'm sitting in the parking lot running my heat or air conditioning or when I'm defogging my windows, and I can't turn my headlights off unless I turn the car off. It's frustrating, and this is why I'd like to know how I can turn that off if I can.
@@Nickthecarguy Hey, and thanks for your response! I am looking at this website that shows all my fuses. Which one should I pull? Thanks! car-fuse.blogspot.com/2013/12/ford-focus-2012-fuses-and-relays.html

I just recently bought a 13 ford escape, love the car it gets me 19.6mpg way better than my past 2 cars. Most people will flash their lights at me cus they think my regular dim lights are high beams. I can't tell, I never messed with them ever since I bought it. Does my car have high beams? Or 1 set of low beam lights
Queen Caylie your car does have high beam and low beam your turn signal switch if you pull that towards you once it will turn on your high beam if you pull it again it will turn them off. I can make a video on how to use your high beam
Nick the car guy Thank you so much and you can if you want but I just went out and I pulled it towards me, it flashed them but I pulled it the opposite way of me and that's what turned them on. When I pull it to me it turns them off ☺
Hello Sr. I have a 2016 ford focus. My lighting control is not working at all. The lamp light don't turn on at night. My headlights turn on day and night can't shut them off. My high beams also not working. Any suggestions?
Hi Nick I have 2018 Ford fusion energi, and decide upgrade to add new fog light. I bought all parts from ford dealer, installed, but fog light is not turning on. indication is show it is on, but really it is not turning on. Could you help to advise what kind issue is it?
@@Nickthecarguy Nick I do and I did it as you have advised. only the first number I have changed from 0 to 1. Just to confirm, which number I have to put as a complete code number?
I think that's how its made when you start the car day time running light always on that is normal unfortunately I do not know how to disable it with a software
Auto means that in the day time you will have daytime running light when it gets dark it will turn on your headlight automatically and if you have auto highbeam it will use it if needed
That doesn't seem to work on the 2017 focus. You're LED or daytime running lights I guess. Still are eliminated and I cannot figure out for the life of me how to turn them off. During the day it's not a big deal but at night trying to be a pain.

Good to know that I'm not the only one watching videos on how to On and Off switching of lights. I somehow felt like an idiot, at first.

There might be a fuse for the drl or unplug the fuse /relay for the high beam. I believe it dim the high beam for the drl

How do you turn them off😩 mine are on all the damn time
I can’t turn my daytime running lights off on my ford fusion I’m lost
So you mean to tell me I've had fog light switch for seven years and never knew. Pluse I never knew they were hidden
What about the 2 buttons to the right of the circular light control? You neglected to mention those.
That is the dimmer switch for the speedometer
The other is the fog lights
The little light is the parking one
I guess auto lights just means auto low beams come on automatically not auto low beams and auto high beams .
Auto means that in the day time you will have daytime running light when it gets dark it will turn on your headlight automatically and if you have auto highbeam it will use it if needed
Its hard to imagine that people wouldn’t know how to turn their headlights on lol

@Macky Coleman What are you trying to figure out, turning the daytime running lights off?
thank u have a rental & could not find Haz. switch
Keith Wallace hazard switch will be located right above the radio and the airvent
I have a rental too & was trying to figure it out also
I hate those Icons. Just write "ON" there on the switch.
Foreigners can figure out "On" as easy as the stupid icons.
wow seriously next is how do You turn a steering wheel and how to apply brakes, welcome to 21st century
