My Grandparents raised me and my older brother, and Gramma crocheted every family member a blanket or a throw before she was taken too young at 67 by !@#$$* Cancer. Aww I'm so sorry but so glad you found the pattern. I survived stage 4 cancer 4 years ago and was so sure it was going to come back at some point, sohave been making afghans for loved ones. Something to remember me by. 6 down two to go.

@@sharonwitherspoon744 , by order came in from hobbi, I was so disgusted, here I watch Crystal unboxing and she tells us the name, number and describes everything about each yarn she opens so I wasted over a hundred dollars if I could show what they sent me it was horrible yarn, and I read everything on each yarn, they sent me all toy yarns like what am I supposed to do with that, Crystal yarn are big and they sent me toy yarns for a doll house, I emailed them and told them that’s not the yardage and colors I picked, they responded you should have read it before you bought it , I told them I did and no response from them again, Like I said I wouldn’t know what to do with these toy yarns there is nothing you can do with it

I’ve made lots of chevron blankets. I like the ends better on your pattern & also going into the back of the two chains on the top of the “hills”. This comes out very neat and is easy to do. I’ve been crocheting for over 50 years and your pattern is my new favorite! I learned on a granny square but now like the rectangular granny better. We’re never too old to learn a better way to crochet ❣️
I have made grandpa's closet sweater then I call it my homeless sweater with the 2 pockets. Now doing this chevron. Have made fingerless gloves and 24 hats to go to a homeless shelter for our vets with pdst from middle east. Your a great teacher. My grandmother made these same ridged ripple afghans and as a child I absolutely adored them! She taught me all my basic crochet but I never was shown how to make these. As I grew older I would try to make them and consistantly screwed them up no matter what pattern I followed! Your tutorial showed me exactly how to avoid all those mistakes and I'm so excited to try it again. I'm going to do a practice one so I can be ready for my Mary Maxim shipment of yarn I've chosen to make my daughters afghan for Christmas! I've been making tons of baby blankets for the last 5-6 weeks... ever since my daughter proudly announced she is pregnant - with triplets. These will be my first grandbabies so I'm going all out. I've made 15 blankets so far, and now I'm going to make 3 ripple blankets. The only thing I did different with this one is instead of just working into the foundation chain, I worked into the back "hump" for a cleaner edge. I'm using Red Heart Super Saver Ombre, Baja Blue for this one. I haven't decided what yarn to use for the next two yet. Thanks Crystal... your channel has been a blessing for me! 💜💜💜

This was the only blanket I knew how to make for over fifty years. I was taught it slightly differently but this is an easier way. I still have one that is going to be 50 years old soon. Most were given away through out the years. This is a classic. We called it the Ripple stitch Afghan. Beautiful.

double double both ends dc 7 skip 2 to dip dc 6 chain 2 to go high when you said it works up quick I did not think it would grow an inch every 3 rows thats is prtty dang cool and easy to track love it

I love this! I went and tortured myself making a ripple blanket using single crochets and 3 stitch together type pattern for the peaks/valleys.... never again, it took FOREVER lol but Chevron blankets are so pretty, especially this ridged one!! I'm gunna make it, thanks Crystal 🙂

Crystal,I have made many chevron baby blankets .o had just replied on one of your videos that I had started a blanket and was still on the first row because I is dk gray and I couldn't see it very well.i have never seen a chevron made the way you have made this one so I won't have to stitch 2 dc and later do 2 inceases together .This appears so much easier and I think it will help me make it right despite the dk yarn.Thank you so much.💛

Reminds me of my grandmother too 😢 She passed from cancer when I was 15. I'm 45 now. She taught me how to make a granny square. Now I must try this ❤
