  • Over 50 hours of restoration work went into making this World Cup look and play like new again. We rebuilt the flipper assemblies, pop bumper asemblies, and outfitted the playfield with white silicone rubber and warm white LEDs as well as some red LEDs and some specialty FIRE LEDS for the white saucer holes. New soccer themed spinner really ties the game play together. =)
All new upgraded LED master and score displays, All new sound board, New upgraded multiple light fusing circuit as well as upgarded special solenoid fusing circuit and bridge rectifuer fusing added that all these system 3-6 Williams games were missing from an oversight from the factory engineers at the time. Cleaned all the playfield plastics and buffed all the playfield metal as well as the coin door, new tempered playfield glass, rebuilt ball shooter assembly, new coin insert red plastics and red leds to light them up. New leg bolts and leg levellers as well as cabinet legs refinished to a chrome shine.

    Thanks again Doc!
A little more back ground to the machine and it's origin. My younger brother got diagnosed with leukemia as a kid, this machine was in the kids play room at the hospital. My brother and I played this machine a lot during his treatments. Many years later after he went into remission the hospital decided to sell the machine (mostly I think because it was pretty beat up at that point). My father managed to scrape up enough to buy it and bring it home. We got several years of use out of it before it fried one of the boards. (A note back to your comment on lack of proper fusing). A decade or so, my brother got cancer again and this time didn't make it, shortly after my dad followed.
It wasn't until recently I got the space, time, and the means to dig this out of my parent's house and get it up and running again. This machine means a lot to me and I can't wait to play it again, thanks for all the hard work.

Stories like this make what we do worth it. So glad to help bring a game that means so much to you and your family and has such a deep and touching history. Thankyou for giving us the opportunity to restore it back to its former glory. =)

Thanks Dave! When I first sw it I said there was no way we could bring that playfield back to looking grteat again. Maureen always the optimist said "Let me try". I did and she did. =)

Nice restoration. Obviously a lot of work, but well worth it. I like seeing the before photos.
