Thanks for teaching chin chokes properly . I had a guy try and rip my face off without warning in tuesday night roll. So I opened my mouth and he stopped in a hurry.
You are actually right. I should phrase that differently. The distance between your elbows gets bigger and structurally that makes a bigger hole. You then close that hole with you forearm driving behind their head, but those are smaller muscles which fatigue more quickly. Thanks for the comment I will say that differently going forward.
It is actually the right forearm that is hitting the other artery the elbow is just taking the slack out of the whole system. Think of your right arm like a rope that you are attaching and tightening. I hope this helps.
I always run into problems as I’m never sitting up . It’s a desperate struggle and we fall onto a side and then those 3 check list items are difficult especially in a taller opponent .
in 7 months, you probably figured this out, but you don't actually require the support hand at all to finish it. one arm rear naked is a thing. Palm-to-palm (short choke) is also viable if you can't get the fancy fold for whatever reason.
This is gold. This needs to be preserved for people 100 years later. It's a relic. This belongs in a museum.
“You want to make them think that whatever hell you’ve put them in is never going to end.”
Love that idea.
Amazing class: thanks again, Charles! :D

This guy's talking style reminds me of Ryan Hall? Did he train with him?
at 4:51 how is the hole "between your arms getting bigger"? Seems where his head is , is getting smaller!

so you bicept of right arm on one carotid and your elbow of your left arm on the other carotid? and how are you closing the hole?

So basically the right arm is doing all the choking and covering both arteries and the left elbow is just tightening ?
