  • -This is a vault copy (not GSN or Buzzr) of a 1968 episode of "What's My Line?" from the first year of it's syndicated run. Humorist Sam Levenson (who had hosted the game show "Two For The Money" in 1957) is the Mystery Guest. The second contestant, Katherine Stone had also been on the original CBS version of WML on November 7, 1965 (Dorothy Kilgallen's last show).
-Panelists include syndicated regulars Arlene Francis and Soupy Sales. Guest panelists are Ingrid Bergman's daughter Pia Lindstrom (who was beginning her career in TV news at the time in San Francisco. She eventually worked for WNBC in New York) and British actor/playwright Gawn Grainger.

In the discussion at the end, it's astonishing how much Pia Lindstrom's voice and accent resemble Arlene's.

1st contestant. Odd that Bruner told the panel so much. "He makes an edible product." Well, that's his line then. The only thing to guess was the name of it. 🤔

The syndicated version was more interested in cutting down time on game play so there could be more time to let the contestant do a demonstration bit afterwards. By giving a few hints like "edible product" you save time wasted with meandering preliminaries waiting for someone to as "is it edible?"

Love your content, do you happen to have the one that aired two before this one, with Angie Dickinson?

I was never a big fan of Soupy in the 60s and 70s, but as I watch the reruns I'm touched by his always good-hearted and gentle humor and his very capable game playing skills. He and Arlene made a strong 1-2 punch!
