- Lighting the coals is easy when you know the basics. Fire is contagious. Keeping the briquets close together will help the fire spread from coal to coal easily so they’re ready to use faster.

Match light for the win! Best charcoal and last longer than any other kind I’ve used (Kingsford is the best.)
I love match light charcoal for sure!
When the fire settles after few minutes and the charcoal is still black ,does it mean that it needs more light or should I just leave it as the charcoal would still be burning ?
the technique is right however I call BS on the time it takes to ash
Chimney is the way to go
I messed up. I put the meat on the grill way too early. Realistically doing the lighter fluid method it took almost 45mins-hour for the charcoal to ash
How long does the easy light method take?
Jamez Martinez 10 min
Does anyone know what bands are similar to this band/what song is this?
Oriel Schmulevich it’s Darude - Sandstorm
Edward Maya - Stereo Love
Lol kingsford is thd best charcoal but you do not light immediately after pooring fluid on the coals, you wait 3-5 min.
Dave S Royal Oak hardwood lump coal is great. You can use your lint from your clothes dryer to ignite the coals
Arthur Smith I'll try it sometime.
Dave S I tried waiting 4 and 5 minutes and it didn't work. The back of the Kingsford Odorless lighter fluid said "light immidiately" which did work. Next time I will try the Charcoal Chimney method.
Dave S or just use a chimney
Seasonings2taste I did! Totally worth it! I won't use lighter fluid anymore. I have a charcoal chimney and it's perfect!
The lighting fluid method does not work in very dumps and humid conditions
Bruh thank you!
that pyramid thing dont work....the coals on the bottom dont burn cause they dont get air flow
This charcoal is by far the greatest piece of shit ever created
Yep overpriced garbage
Agreed. Its never worked this way for me🙄
Chimney, unless y’all love the taste of lighter fluid.
😮 if you're tasting fluid.. you're not letting it burn off.. you're putting meat on too early
Never use lighter fluid, ever.
Despite this video. Kingsford continues to not light, despite the use of various forms of neutral to semi explosive/rapid burning accelerants. Guess they changed their formula, their average Joe consumer briquettes will not ignite at any god damned altitude with anything be it, lighter fluid, kerosene, diesel fuel, solidified ethylene, napalm etc... all while considering local current wind and weather patterns and adjusting for such events... guess its time to give my money to local coal distributors who have sold tons of coal to thousands who heat their homes with coal and invested in multiple local mining sites which apparently have no issue providing coal which burns at 5300' whatsoever.
If you're above sea level. Don't buy kingsford, buy from a local miner and supplier. This shit sucks anymore above 100 feet apparently.... wouldn't use it for god damned kitty litter let alone any type of fuel.
Long story short: Id rather use it for packing my driveway than trying to depend on it for heat...
Have you tried the chimney method? I've used it and it works fine.
Yep garbage
Everybody else is able to get it to light except you. Think about it.
I dont know what im doing wrong. Im using the ready to light kind and I wait like 10 to 15 minutes and the ones in the middle are still black as night. I light them all the way around.
Using a charcoal chimney changed my grill game for life.
RoastBeefSandwich I’ve always wanted to purchase one. It’s worth it?
@@ChaseWalling I'd say so, you can buy regular charcoal (not match light) and use newspaper. No need for starting fluid or anything else. I don't think it's any faster than matchlight or starting fluid, but it's cheaper in the long run since you can just use newspaper, junk mail, whatever, to light the charcoal.
@Reddestroyer Gaming you still have to have some kind of fuel, I like charcoal.
@Reddestroyer Gaming only thing about charcoal is waiting for it to get ready. gas is instant heat you just need 5 minutes for your grate to heat.
@@RoastBeefSandwich there's a big difference in taste. Also why are you even commenting on a charcoal video?
Tfw you don't have a dad
Everyone has a dad how tf you think people are born
Aramis Dennard a dad and a father are two different things
@@anthonyfletcher8053 i was replying to the initial comment..
Why does kingsford use
sodium tetraborate pentahydrate and limestone dust
In the “all natural” original version briquettes?
Thank you
I have a question, when you use the lighter fluid method or the match light method, there isnt supposed to be smoke when the charcoal burns right ?
There is supposed to be smoke. It's a fire. If yours isn't smoking then it's not lit properly. Build a pyramid or one as best you can, put lighter fluid on it, especially on the sides, squirt some in the holes between some of the briquettes and then light it. KEEP THE LID OFF until the briquettes are ashed over. Some of them wont ash over but if you used enough charcoal, it'll be fine as long as like 90% of them are ashed over. Put your grate in the grill, close the lid, wait for about 10 minutes and then you can add your food on there. It should sizzle. If it doesn't on contact, take it off and try to restart. Make sure if you do, you aren't going to burn anything with the charcoal as it's hot. Like really hot even if it's still black, it's hot. Don't be afraid to ask a neighbor. Most older men know how to charcoal grill and would love to help someone who's learning.
Lighter fluid is for amateurs
To be fair chimney, though the most efficient, also the most nobrainer-ish
@@T2uyu taste alot better than lighter fluid
So is your method.
@@bigmacdaddy1234 nope
By far the best video
The lighter fluid method sucks
