That’s amazing and great. I have to laugh though. Most of the old ranchers I knew just led their horses to the trailer, gave them a spank and said “ get in “. Always worked. But this video is a great way to introduce them to the trailer.
I think a lot of people don’t realize how big a horse is and the damage they can do to you unless you show control over them. Doesn’t mean you have to be more than gentle but firm. I’ve met my share of horse owners that don’t exert any control and no longer ride because they don’t trust their horse. Sad.

This is great. As for the word, personally I like to think of it as the “encourage” line. That keeps me thinking ‘gentle encouragement’ rather than ‘spank cuz he’s wrong’… because I want to remember to be gentle and supportive of the horses process, not push him too fast. In my mind, when I think ‘spank’, I don’t think gentle encouragement. But that’s just me.
Yeah that’s how we have been teaching it for years. Encourage. Some people don’t find enough umph from their insides with just that word so it is a hard balance of painting the picture with or words and getting people to be effective. Thank you!
Is there a reason to keep one of the doors closed when loading?
Just depends on the trailer. This has a tack area behind that door for sales and such.

Yeah and that doesn’t actually fix things when situations arise that are under pressure. 👍🏻 nice try. Maybe you can line up all the horses in the world and tell them to stop kicking and biting each other cause that’s how they communicate when a stern look doesn’t work.
I am sorry that you feel that way, though there is significant proof otherwise. Horses: the only sport where hitting and kicking are encouraged and justified and where you're constantly gaslit into believing that it's the "only" way. It's not. @peartreeranch
