- An exclusive interview brought to you by British Airways… the origin story of the dual coder, whose trademark step and acceleration devastated opposition across rugby league & rugby union. Twenty years on from scoring THAT try in 2003, Jason Robinson’s invited Tins to his first-ever rugby club, for a trip down memory lane, to relive the glory years and reflect on the place where it all began for him; The Huslet Club in Leeds.

Jason Robinson needs a documentary film out about his career in both codes league and union would be a great watch
What an amazing talent and a great bloke Billy Whizz is. Was a privilege to watch him for Wigan, GB RL and later England RU. I remember his try against the Brisbane Broncos in front of 51,000 in Brisbane. That shut the Aussies up. I was also at Suncorp when he made that break to feed Will Greenwood in RWC2003 quarter final. Magic rugby player.
Absolutely fantastic!!! Two great players who are still great friends and respect each other. Well done, and we all wish you well.
Thank you Mr Tindall for this wonderful interview with the humble legend that is Mr Jason Robinson. Excellent stuff 💪🙏
A legendary winger. Always wondered why his name doesn't usually pop up in all time conversations but maybe it's just the fact that he's English
No question is one of the GOATs of rugby. As you said if he was a kiwi, bok or even Welsh he’d get the recognition
Its funny cause some wingers burst onto the scene for a few years then gone but are spoken about for years
@@herb2078 He's already getting recognition to be fair. Just maybe not the recognition he deserves.
He would've fit right in a Springboks backline. Coming from a Kiwi
@Ruakituri Exactly, the world just hates the English. As a Kiwi/Samoan he'd be in the same breath as Christian Cullen if he put on the black jersey. World Cup or not
@@ttoleafoa70but the world speaks English, statues of English people all over the world. A curious kind of hatred.
A fantastic role model if such things exist. A true hero and a man of principle.
We really do need more of these interviews that was probably the most I’ve been engrossed in ages, well done GBR and Jason is a true inspiration
Legend. Freak of a player. On a different level to any of the current crop of England backs
An absolute superstar of our game. What a man JRo is.
Thank you. Jason Robinson is a rugby legend. I saw him play is last game in France for WC final in 2007. Just love the guy such a good player. From a French fan. 👍🇫🇷🇬🇧
Fantastic player in both codes, and a wonderful man to boot!
Legend is Robinson - I remember when I was at a Leeds Rhinos v Wigan game at Headingley Stadium back in late 90s and he tackled a pitch invader streaker haha 😂
Great interview and Mike's interviewing skills gone from strength to strength since the beginning of GBR. Love what you guys are doing and keep showing the characters of our beautiful game!
I've not seen anyone else as adept at effortlessly bearing a man 1 on 1.
Always was and forever will be my favourite player.
Born and raised in Bath, but supported Sale because of Jason 😂
Absolute legend. Always was a pleasure to watch.
What a legend of a man, and a great interview too. Thank you
Absolute legend!
Excellent interview Mr T of a great favourite Mr R. Such a nice guy…..
What an inspirational story, great bloke.
Brilliant interview thanks Jason and tins
What a great interview, I was there in Australia 03.
Brilliant stuff, you see, it can be done, and to reach the highest level.
thanks so much. a great interview
Being from Wigan and about the same age as Robinson, I got a first hand view at what made him such a great player.
Back then Wigan had vision about what they wanted to achieve and it wasn't just by buying the best players available that brought them success, it was to create a culture within a group that was willing to learn from each other.
Like Robinson says in this interview, that Wigan team was the best of the best and to fit in, you had to be the best of you or else you didn't play.
Players like Edwards, Farrell, Offiah, Paul, Betts, the list goes on. They didn't just become part of that culture, they created it by pushing each other that extra step.
For me both League but especially Union missed an opportunity with the success Robinson had in Union. The prejudice towards League should have shortened and if that happened, who knows where Union and League would be in England now.
I know kids that play Union now and they STILL turn their noses up at League, but why?
The reason comes down to the roots of rugby League and even though the likes of Farrell and Edwards have become outstanding Union coaches, English Rugby Union (RFU) will always hold that grudge because it's ENGLISH Rugby players that formed the game of League.
Union in England could and should be the top team in the world....yet ignorance and snobbery will always rule over common sense!
The legend that 20 years ago scored the greatest try of all time ❤️
Great player and an even greater bloke
Great one-to-one. Over 300 first team appearances at Wigan by 26!!! Incredible
For me Robinson is one of the first names down in a all time 15 starting line up, either on the wing or at 15. Probably because he’s English he’s hugely under rated. All time great
I don't think anyone "underrates" Jason.
@@JimboPrague maybe not, I hope that’s not the case 🤷♂️
Brilliant interview!
Loved this episode
An absolute legend and a good.
a wonderful conversation.
Awesome interview 👏🏻
Wonderful interview
Great interview
Great interview...👍
Brilliant athlete. Loved watching him play for Wigan. Idolised him when he played for England. Thank you Jason for those great memories and that WC try! 🏴🌹🇬🇧
This man should be one of the people running tha game.
Hahaha 10pencer at rooftop gardens I was the resident DJ there Mondays were the best
11pm went down into Casanovas 😂 the rumour was it was dreggs but it was actually from the big vats of beer and lager. They got filled up on a Thursday so it was whatever was left.
They used to wash glasses in salt water which would make you thirsty and drink more
my fave player of all time
Jason played rugby when England could actually run with the ball. Great player
I absolutely hated him when we played england.
So fkn leathal, legend
Skills honed in League 👍
The ultimate professional
Jason Robinson's accent sounds thicker in this video somehow, it must be something about being at home :D
More of Billy and less of Ugo…and life would be better… a true legend
Lovely, won't find a better player and great humble Rugby guy 😅
I'm bisexual.......I love League and Union! 😃
Two proper Yorkshire lads.
Cuba Gooding Jr.
Goat Winger!!!
Never won a rugby league world cup toughest cup to win if you are not Australian

A great man and more importantly a Christian.
The other way around surely 😂
As an atheist I would have to say his Christianity is of zero importance. He’s a great rugby player, England’s first black captain (I think?) and should be celebrated for his rugby talent and his philanthropism and not his religious beliefs which are frankly irrelevant to me atleast.
@@henerz96 A great Christian and more importantly a man?
@@johnfletcher9907 Well ask him how important his Christianity is. It has always been a big factor in the way he is. That is why Inga the winger was so important. I am not about to backhand atheism.
You just backhanded everyone who's not Christian 😂
