Mori could you discuss how long it took you to complete your early Japanese study material. I’m currently using Genki book I, and I’m curious how long it takes to go through different self study books. 😁love your channel 👍🏾
Genki is not much of a self study book, you can use it as one but the exercises commonly ask for a partner. Don't do too much and make sure to practice what you learn by making your own sentences and situations, if you want to speed through the book then you can likely finish one lesson every third day and have a good base with the kanji and vocab. If you are just going through the book by yourself then you should look up some videos for grammar by TokiniAndy, he goes through the Genki grammar and explains things from a more conversational view looking back over the grammar points.

I’m so glad I found your channel! You’re a great youtuber! I really want to become a ATL teacher in japan and I’m a sophomore in college as a Health Admin major. My question is would I have to have a degree in education or English in order to become an ESL Teacher or could I take courses and get a ESL Certificate? Also I bought book on learning Japanese but is it mandatory to speak Japanese? It’s not a problem for me and I’ll be willing to learn the language just curious if it’s mandatory.

I've always been interested in Japanese not only for anime and manga as well as music language but also for its beautiful culture and language! But like any other language I don't know where to begin I am not a beginner as I understand a bit and can make a few sentences here and there but its just that as a self taught I m not sure where I should start after hiragana katakana which are the basic then comes kanji but then grammar comes which is filled with confusing topics and sub topics so any Japanese people or anyone who studied Japanese? Can anyone tell me as a half intermediate Japanese learner where should I start?
