Yes…indeed it is. It’s what makes life… something that is fragile and weak but at the same time, strong, beautiful and “worth living”…a strength that is nowadays understood and should be because remembering that living isn’t about being alive but the joy of the experience and finding that is breath taking.
Man, this sums up the feeling of arriving home again after a long absence better than any other musical piece I've heard! First, the sweetly sad remembrance of past events as one approaches the all-to-familiar old location, then the elation of seeing the place again after all this time, just as you left it (or close enough, if it's been years) and the joyful reception, with a song of greeting* yet, by those family members still in residence. The opening reminds me of the first part of Beethoven's 'Consecration of the House' overture. Great stuff! *I assume something of the sort, although the actual words are drowned in the sumptuousness of the music.
Love this piece, love Thomas, his music, the voices, the strings, the majesty of his music. I own alot of TSFH it is truly amazing music for the soul, the mind, the body,the whole of you
This might be tied with the lyrical version of "Compass" as my favorite song Bergersen has ever done. My only complaint? It was TOO SHORT. You extended this nicely, intuitively. It almost sounds like it could have been intended that way. Awesome job.
