I'm actually shocked this didn't return offiicially in Kanes Wrath. The GDI Steel Talons faction uses walkers; so it would seem logical enough that the Mammoth MKII could have been among them (Maybe as an Alternative Super Unit to the Marv). It really was a missed opportunity especially when EA had provided a great chance to have it return once more.
It was completely decommissioned, the main problem with the Mammoth Mk. II was the fact it was too slow, big a target and the fact that walkers have a VERY obvious weak point, the legs. Considering the new commandos, they would have made short work of such a unit. There is also the fact that walkers are very expensive on maintenance alone. On the bright side like all walkers, it has a natural high ground so to speak, so obstacles don't bother it.
They didn't return it because, you DO read the intel data right? Remember the intel report about the last Mammoth MK walker being closed in san pedro? Kanes wrath took place in the same time Kane resseructed and GDI "destroyed" scrin(they'll come back (;) so... returning them would kill the plot in some way.
I would love to see these walkers against Scrin forces, because GDI veterans said if they used walkers against Scrin forces, war against them in the third tiberuim war would've been easier.
MARV is a harvester. It's amazing for making money. I wish I knew how to mod it so that I could use whatever Units I wanted in GDI and NOD. Like use Titans and Wolverines in GDI instead of Predators and Pitbulls. Or if Steel Talons had Juggernaut, Sniper Team and Commando, I'd be more than happy. As for NOD, I would use Marked of Kane with Black Hand and Confessor Cabal instead of Tiberium Troopers and Awakened. Plus, the unmissed Specters and Shadow Teams. I rarely use NOD Commando, but a Cyborg Commando comeback would be amazing.

Yeah crazy mech warrior style units and frisbee grenades are why I always like GDI best! Of course the walkers are hard to animate compared to tanks, so I appreciate the extra effort!
The Mammonth Mk II can be acquired in a couple Mods here's a couple off the top of my head Tiberium Essence (Hybrid between CNC 2&3.) Crossfire (Introduces a 4th, and a fifth tier to the tech tree.)
Not my point. GDI and Nod were dumbed down in Tiberium wars, Tiberium Essence (The mod that allows what is shown in the above video.) Brings back all of the things left out in Tib Wars from Tib Sun. So the Scrin were never truly fleshed out as they were supposed to be by Westwood.
You going to do a superweapon montage for RA3? I've read about the Tiberium Essence mod. Quite a bit of stuff that was in TS was thrown in, and there were some minor changes like the Avatar's laser will stay red.

In the center, low left to the spike there is a husk of a Mk. II. (No, I'm afraid it can't be revived in any way, it's just a little nod back to the old C&C games)
@Rossimint Its less balanced if you read actually, they lowered its primary damage, but now it hits more than one target in its line of fire, it bombards/crushes anything that gets near it. Plus it still has anti air AND you can make more than one. Its only nerf is that it has weaker armor. But like that matters since they have nano repair so unless the husk is destroyed or captured they will come back. Doesn't sound very balanced to me.
Which mod were you talking about? Tiberium Essence is for CNC3, not Kanes Wrath and includes an Artillery unit for Nod. Kanes Wrath Reloaded has a mod for CNC3 that adds official or ported Kanes Wrath units to the standard CNC3 campaign and Skirmish and there is also a Kanes Wrath Reloaded mod and Kanes Wrath Enhanced to improve Kanes Wrath so it can be a bit confusing.
I play Kanes Wrath with Kane's Wrath Reloaded KWEnhanced, you should check those out too. Have you played 'The Forgotten' Mod yet too? The only Cnc3 Mod I know that has full campaigns, epic!

You do know you can upgrade the avatar right? recon bike- detects stealth stealth tank- gives the avatar a cloaking ability flame tank- uses flame thrower on close up targets beam reflector- a second laser (which also speeds up attacking) their quite powerful if given the time to upgrade them but the stealth tanks still have the advantage of attacking aircraft and moving faster.
@reckneya Arg, all I'm saying is, is that this isn't just an All-American G.D.I.. It's a world wide GDI. That's why there is no America in this game. They have all been dissolved in the name of bringing down Tiberium. If it were really based on future American tech, we would have a G.D.I that would be more like the Empire of the Rising Sun on C&C 3: Red Alert.
The only problem is that unlike the MARV it cannot crush enemy units but otherwise the MK.II was one of the best if not the best super tank ever in C&C saga
Unless your planning on dropping 2 Annihalator Tripods next to it via Mastermind THEN Micro-EMP it to oblivion,then losing units should be expected when fighting an Epic Unit

The artillery in TE 1.51 doesn't look like any of the ones from Tiberian Sun or kanes Wrath. I guess it resembles the Spector a little but it looks more like the creators own custom unit. The link given is to all versions and the mod is stored seperately to the main game so can be removed at any time. You won't want to remove it though, it is epic. In my last mission, I launched a final desperate attack on a Nod base leaving my own base very lightly defended (GDI Rescue MVC Mission).
Not really. Their primary weapon isn't as effective as you'd expect on them. But their back mount missile launchers and special ability 'dispersion bay' make getting close to them just as dangerous as being far away. Most people avoid using them right now too since they are prone to crashing the game on a 32 bit OS... like a lot of other things.
As for Nod, I beleive that they may have done the same thing except Kane orderded it, but I think EA should create a sort of Underground faction in the next game, a sort of hiding power that rises from the Depth's of Earth's Core, I would call this HellBirth as since they ahve that flame breathing Devil's Tounge. What do you think? Plus, if this was created I think their epic unti should be a some sort of fire type. Hmm maybe more along the lines of Magma, the greatest heat source on Earth.
@Jasonth131 a commando? if you put a gdi commando against the redeemer (which is a walker) it cant use its C4 on it and besides if you want to be realistic the C4 is not powerfull enough to destroy the legs of a Mammoth mkII
@TheDutchGame The challenge is to acquire it and destroying it, depending on which side you're on. If you're faced with bringing it down, well, you're going to need a bit of tactic, to say the least.
i like me MK2 but i have one problem...the sound track used "It is day of judgment" Is from Red Alert 2 "Soviet Apocalypse Tank" it does not fit this game right...but good job
@tron178 if you play Supreme Commander, you can see 30000 bodies in 20 min, but your CPU is not frying. You can play SC with an IA TECNIC and you can see 100000 bodies, and your CPU, is still full of life.

An interesting mod that still has some issues, however some unit models are stellar but one is goofy as hell specifically the flame tank which I am nto a fan of in general but meh. The changes to the scrin like relying on tiberium radiation to heal just makes it annoying, some changes feel more than unnecessary, however I do like the idea of the barracks able to restore infantry units, nothing is as sad as seeing two rocket troops die because how dare you use infantry as nod. The uber units I am alright with the change since in kane's wrath, one felt lack luster compared to the other. Playing the mod was fun even though still a work in progress, but like I said some model changes felt unnecessary, specifically the flame tank and attack bike.

Nod's side on the other hand it never gives details, in Kane's Wrath the slingshot hovers but that might be the only hover unti we see from GDI.
